As we began to compose this Top 10 Everly Brothers songs list we quickly realized that choosing only ten songs from a musical act that has released seventy five singles throughout their career would be an impossible task. We faced the same challenge when we attempted to write top 10 songs lists for The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Waits. With the exception of The Beatles we wound up composing seperate Top 10 lists by decade for each of those artists in separate articles. With The Beatles we seperated their top 10 lists by years because the group was so affluent in such a short time period.

With The Everly Brothers we have decided to create top 10 songs lists for each decade they released music. The differences between our Everly Brothers songs list and the other bands is that we are going to place The top 10 Everly Brothers songs list decade by decade in one article.

The Everly Brothers released their first single for Columbia records in 1956 entitled “Keep A lovin.” The single did not chart. Columbia Records dropped the Everly Brothers soon after. It was a move Columbia Records would soon regret. In 1957, The Everly Brothers signed with Cadence Records and recorded a song entitled, By Bye Love,” written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. The song sold one million copies and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The fabulous career of The Everly Brothers had begun.
