Our Top 10 Faith No More Songs list takes a look at one of the most interesting bands in rock history. ThereĀ are certain bands that have always been tough to categorize like the Dixie Dregs, Steely Dan, early Chicago, and even Frank Zappa.Ā  These bands crossed the genres of rock, jazz, and progressive rock. Faith No More seems to fall somewhere in between progressive rock, metal, funk, and perhaps the most ambiguous category of them all, experimental rock.

The band Faith No More released their first album in 1985 entitled We Care a Lot. Two years later they released Introduce Yourself followed by The Real Thing in 1989, Angel Dust in 1992 King for a Day… Fool for a LifetimeĀ in 1995 and Album of the Year in 1997. The band broke up in 1998. However, as so many successful rock band’s do, they reunited in 2009. From 2009 to 2012 the band embarked on what was billed as The Second Coming Tour. The band took a break once again but came roaring back for the Soundwave tour. The band returned to the studio and released a new album in 2015 entitledĀ Sol Invictus.Ā

Our Top 10 Faith No More Songs list is a subjective list of some of our favorite Faith No More songs that we believe represent the band’s great catalog of genre-crossing albums.

# 10 – Superhero

We open our Top 10 Faith No More Songs list with a track from their latest album entitled Sol Invictus. The song “Superhero,” represents that angry dramatic Faith No More sound perfectly.

# 9 – Pills For Breakfast

The great instrumental track “Pills For Breakfast,” was released on the band’s first album entitled We Care a Lot. The album was released in 1979. This one is pretty intense. It starts with a slow fade in and then just builds up with ferocious anger until you are hypnotized.

# 8 – Ricochet

Faith No More’s album King For a Day, Fool For a Lifetime is the most represented album on our top 10 Faith No More songs list. The album was released in 1995.The track “Ricochet,” was released as the second single from the album.

# 7 – Evidence

The song “Evidence,” was the third single released from the band’s 1995 album King For a Day, Fool For a Lifetime. The band has their groove shoes on with this cool rock and roll number. The strings wrap around Mile Patton’s vocals with an air of mystery that drips from a classic film-noir 50s film.

# 6 – Last Cup Of Sorrow

Continuing with our Top 10 Faith No More songs list we turn to the 1997 record entitled “Album of the Year.” The song “Last Cup Of Sorrow,” was one of three singles released from the album.

# 5 – From Out Of Nowhere

The band’s great break-out album The Real Thing is represented twice on this Top 10 Faith No More songs list. There are so many great tracks on the record, but we tried to cover as much ground of the band’s career as we could, so we had to limit our selections from the record. Nonetheless, we could not pass up on listing the phenomenal track “From Out Of Nowhere.”

# 4 –Ā Digging The Grave

One last time we go back to the superb recordĀ King For a Day, Fool For a Lifetime. The track “Digging The Grave,” was released as the first single from the album.

# 3 – We Care a Lot

“We Care a Lot,” was the title track from the band’s debut album We Care a Lot which was released in 1985. The musicians on the band’s first album featuredĀ Chuck MosleyĀ on vocals,Ā James B. Martin on guitars, Mike “Puffy” BordinĀ on Drums. Rodney Christoper BottumĀ onĀ  Keyboards and William GouldĀ on bass.

# 2 – Land of Sunshine

The album Angel Dust was the follow-up to the band’s widely successful album The Real Thing. We would have liked to have included more tracks from the album but we simply just ran out of space. We think “Land of Sunshine,” is a great representative song of another smoking Faith No More album. The Angel Dust album was released in 1992.

# 1 – Epic

Epic was the song that turned so many people on to the band Faith No More. The great track was released on the album The Real Thing in 1989. The single “Epic,” reached the Billboard Top 10 peaking at number 9. A very impressive feat for such a heavy song. The album featured the great Mike Patton on vocals, James Martin on guitars, Bill Goukld on bass, Roddy Bottum on keys, and Mike Bordin on drums.
