Our Top 10 Jack White songs list looks at the solo songs released by one of rock’s most original and brilliant musicians of the past twenty five years. This Jack White songs list will only focus on the material Jack White has released on his solo albums and a few soundtrack singles he has also released. It will not takes into consideration his work with his band The White Stripes or The Raconteurs, and the Dead Weather which we have already covered in separate articles. Jack White is clearly a musician who is a student of musical history. One can very much hear it in his playing. His guitar style has been distinctly inspired by Jimmy Page and and many of the legendary 20th century blues guitarists from the South like Robert Johnson lay underneath it all. However, his compositions are so original it’s almost hard to pinpoint his inspirations. This leads us to really believe the man is a musical genius whose creations seem to be coming from within, being more of an originator than follower in every sense of the word. This was a fun one to do!

# 10 – Love Interruption

We open up our Jack White songs list with this great southern style soulful tune entitled “Love Interruption.” Fueled by some acoustic guitars and a Wurlitzer electric piano which has always been the little brother to the Fender Rhodes, this song sounds like it was recorded in 1973. But of course it was not. The song was actually released as the lead single from the first Jack White solo album entitled Blunderbuss. The album was released in 2012. We thought this would be the perfect way to open up our Jack White songs list.

# 9 – Another Way to Die

Continuing with our top 10 Jack White songs list, we turn to the great duet between Jack White and Alicia Keys entitled “Another Way To Die.” This fabulous duet was released on the Quantum of Solace: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. There’s nothing like having a James Bond Theme song on your resume and Jack White scored this baby in 2008. The song became a top 10 hit in the United Kingdom, home of Bond, James Bond.

# 8 -Freedom At 21

In the number eight spot on our Jack White songs list we present the killer tune entitled “Freedom At 21.” With a guitar lick that sounds like it came out of a spy movie, “Freedom at 21,” further defines that original Jack White modern psychedelic sound. The song was released on Jack White’s first solo album entitled Blunderbuss. The video featured the beautiful Brittany Colombo. The song “Freedom At 21,” was nominated for a Grammy Award for best Rock Song of 2012. That must be such an incredible feeling to be nominated by your peers who are basically telling you that they thought you have written a better rock and roll song than anyone else had written and recorded during the entire year.

# 7 – Love is Blindness

In the number seven spot on our Jack White songs list is this very cool track entitled “Love Is Blindness.” The song was released on the soundtrack to the motion picture The Great Gatsby. Not only is Jack White a great songwriter and one of the most original voices in rock and roll in the past 25 years, he is also a great song interpreter. This is a great cover version of a U2 song performed by Jack White with a ferocious passion. Jack White’s vocals and guitar playing are simply off the charts on this tune.

# 6 – Over and Over and Over

Moving along on our Jack White songs list we turn to his most recent album entitled Boarding House Reach and the kicking track “Over and Over and Over.” This great song starts out with a  Led Zeppelin style Jimmy Page guitar riff and then descends into that traditional Jack White madness. The song was released as the third single from his Boarding House Reach album that was quite a success on the Billboard Rock and Roll charts. This is just simply brilliant music proving that rock and roll is nowhere near being dead in 2020.

# 5 – Would You Fight For My Love?

At the halfway point on our Jack White songs list we present this masterpiece of a song and video entitled “Would You Fight For My Love?” This is simply one of the most mesmerizing videos we’ve ever seen. Directed by Robert Hales, you will not be able to stop watching this one. The song was released on the Jack White album Lazaretto in 2014. It was released as the third single from the album.

# 4 – Lazaretto

And speaking of the album entitled Lazaretto. In the number four spot on our Jack White songs list is the title track from this incredible album. It’s almost hard to describe the music on this track. Jack White is clearly inspired by the guitar style of Led Zeppelin’s legendary guitarist Jimmy Page. You can hear it in the riff, but one can also very much hear it in this song’s guitar solo.

# 3 – I’m Shakin’

This one is all about groove and soul done Jack White style in this stunning and very entertaining video and songs entitled “I’m Shaking.” This song was written by Rudolph Toombs in 1962. The song was originally a big time hit by legendary r&b singer Ruth Brown. Jack White recorded the song for his album Blunderbuss.

# 2 – Connected By Love

As we close in on the top spot on our Jack White songs list we present another great track from his most recent album entitled Boarding House ReachThis song blew everyone away as it was released as the lead single from the album. The song became a top 20 hit on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. This is a slow blues classic rock style sounding jam with a great organ solo as well as the traditional killer Jack White original guitar solo. Listen to this one all the way through because the ending is simply mesmerizing.

# 1 – Sixteen Saltines

Any one of these songs on our Jack White top 10 list could have been placed in the number one spot. Every single one of them is simply fabulous and incredibly original sounding. Songs packed with substance and full of brilliance. We decided to go with the sensational track “Sixteen Saltines,” in the number one spot. This one defines every brilliant attribute of Jack White’s music. The killer guitar riffs, the mad sounding vocals and the incredibly original sounding compositions. The video is also completely insane.
