The wonderful sound of jazz music is connected to classic rock in so many ways. This is a music history site so its important to make all connections. There are so many subgenres of jazz music from early blues based jazz to big band & swing through bebop, cool jazz, modern jazz, 60s fusion, 70s slick, 80s fusion and on. The exploration of jazz styles is a continuous concept that seeps into rock and roll through many avenues. Just listen to Mike Stern play a screaming guitar solo on one of his hard rocking 90s jazz pieces or Charlie Parker tearing it up on saxophone in the 40s. It’s all related to rock and roll.
