Fans of the classic jam band Phish will be happy to know that the legendary group has just announced their tour dates for their upcoming tour. Like so many other rock bands and artists, Phish was forced to cancel so many past tour dates because of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Phish had planned a huge end of the year four night concert celebration at New York City’s famed arena Madison Square Garden at the end of 2021. However, due to the Omicron variant, those shows were cancelled as Omicron raged through New York city affecting everyone including this writer who almost died from Covid. Nonetheless, the band is back and ready to bring there great jam band concerts and their huge catalog of material to Phish fans in North America.
The tour will begin with four nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City in mid to late April. Those four shows make up for the four canceled night in December and January. The band will then take a break for a month and then restart their summer tour in the deep south in the city of Orange Beach Alabama. Most of their dates during the months of June and July will be spent on the East Coast of the United States as Phish will make a return to New York in July at the Jones Beach Amphitheater on Long Island and at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in upstate New York.
Phish will not spend their entire North American tour on the East Coast. They will head across the county in August to play a series of dates in Colorado while even making an appearance north of the border in Toronto, Canada.
Phish had made a statement that the reason they had canceled many of their concerts due to the pandemic was not just because of the concern over spreading the virus at the shows, but rather they were concerned that so many of their fans travel long distances to see them and they didn’t want to help spread the virus among people using public transportation across the country to see their shows.
