Formed in Anaheim, California, in 2005, New Years Day first gained attention through MySpace before building a dedicated fan base through relentless touring and a steady stream of new music. Its best-known songs include “Angel Eyes,” “Kill or Be Killed,” “Defame Me,” “Shut Up,” and the popular cover of “Gangsta.” Malevolence became the band’s first release to enter the Billboard 200, where it peaked at Number 45.

New Years Day won an mtvU Freshmen poll for the “I Was Right” video and developed a reputation for energetic live performances and a strong connection with fans.
