Devon Allman has spent his career honoring a famous musical inheritance without allowing it to define the limits of his own work. From the blues-rock foundation of Honeytribe and Royal Southern Brotherhood to the family connections of The Allman Betts Band, the funk-driven Miami Moon, the collaborative Blues Summit, and the cinematic instrumental experiment nightvision, his catalog has continued expanding in directions that are recognizably Allman while remaining distinctly his own.

Devon Allman was born on August 10, 1972, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is the son of Gregg Allman, the singer, keyboardist, and co-founder of the Allman Brothers Band. Devon spent much of his childhood away from his father and developed his own interest in music as a teenager before becoming active in the St. Louis music scene.
Allman founded Honeytribe during the 1990s. The group became a regular presence on the blues-rock touring circuit and released Torch in 2006. Its second album, Space Age Blues, followed in 2010 and included guest appearances by Huey Lewis and saxophonist Ron Holloway.
In 2011, Allman helped form Royal Southern Brotherhood with Cyril Neville, Mike Zito, Yonrico Scott, and Charlie Wooton. The supergroup released its self-titled debut in 2012, followed by the live album Songs from the Road and the studio album Heartsoulblood. The project broadened Allman’s audience while connecting his blues-rock writing with New Orleans funk and Southern soul.
Allman launched his solo-album catalog with Turquoise in 2013. The record featured Luther Dickinson, Samantha Fish, Ron Holloway, Yonrico Scott, and Myles Weeks. Ragged & Dirty, produced by Tom Hambridge and recorded in Chicago, followed in 2014, while Ride or Die arrived in 2016 and reached number one on Billboard’s Blues Albums chart.
In 2018, Devon Allman and Duane Betts formed The Allman Betts Band with Berry Duane Oakley and a larger ensemble of musicians. The group recorded Down to the River at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and released it in 2019. Bless Your Heart followed in 2020, extending the band’s combination of Southern rock, blues, country, soul, and improvisation.
Allman returned to co-billed recording in 2022 with “These Days,” a single with Maggie Rose. In 2023, he and Donavon Frankenreiter released the six-song Rollers EP. Its travel-focused songs accompanied an ambitious tour during which the pair attempted to perform fifty concerts in fifty states in fewer than fifty days.
The 2024 album Miami Moon was Allman’s first full-length solo release in eight years. Recorded with musicians including George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Adam Deitch, Karl Denson, and Jackson Stokes, the nine-song album placed funk, soul, and rhythm-and-blues grooves at the center of tracks such as “White Horse,” “Body Electric,” “Sahara,” and the title song.
In July 2025, Allman released The Blues Summit, a ten-song album built around collaboration. Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jimmy Hall, Robert Randolph, Larry McCray, and Sierra Green were among the featured musicians. The record moved between original songs, blues standards, Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing,” and the instrumental “Midnight Lake Erie,” a companion to “Midnight Lake Michigan.”
Allman changed direction again with nightvision, released in January 2026. Recorded with bassist Justin Corgan, drummer John Lum, and Allman’s son Orion on synthesizer, the ten-song instrumental album drew on ambient art rock, 1980s guitar textures, science-fiction imagery, and Allman’s long-standing interest in composing music for film.
Across solo albums, collaborative releases, and multiple bands, Devon Allman’s music has continued to combine blues, rock, soul, funk, Americana, and Southern musical traditions. The list below focuses on his solo and co-billed recordings rather than duplicating the separate catalogs of Honeytribe, Royal Southern Brotherhood, and The Allman Betts Band.
