Hall & Oates - Unreleased Classic Rock Photos

Our third release in our Unreleased Classic Rock Photos series by Mike Hill features the band Hall & Oates. This series of photographs that have never been seen before were taken at a club called Uncle Sams which was a disco that eventually became a popular concert hall. The club was located at Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts. The concert took place in July of 1980.
Daryl Hall and John Oates stand as one of the most successful musical duos in music history. While they have been always known as a duo one should never discount that their sound was created and perfected by a band that featured a group of musicians that brought their own style of plating to those Daryl Hall and John Oates compositions. Daryl Hall and John Oates were very much aware of the importance of their band and made sure to feature them in all those classic Daryl Hall and John Oates videos that were played on MTV in the early to nmid 1980’s.  At the height of their career, the band consisted of Charles DeChant on saxophone who still performs with them, the legendary G.E. Smith on guitar who would become the Saturday Night Live Band leader, Mickey Curry on drums, Larry Fast on synths and the late Tom “T-Bone” Wolk on bass.
Daryl Hall and John Oates, have released eighteen studio albums since their debut album was released in 1972 entitled War Babies. In addition to their large catalog of studio albums, they have also released twenty-seven compilation albums and eleven live albums. The duo has released sixty three singles while creating videos for more than half of them.
