Lester Chambers Of The Chambers Brothers & Moonalice Interview

If you grew up in the 1960s and 70s, you probably had a few Chambers Brothers albums in your collection. The band released six studio albums between 1967 and 1975. The Chamber Brothers also released eight live albums. The group proved to have great success on the charts, especially with the massive iconic hit “Time Has Come Today. ”
Many decades later, lead vocalist Lester Chambers has continued to enjoy his musical career in the band Moonalice. There are many reasons why Lester enjoys being a part of the psychedelic soul collective Moonalice. Of course, the biggest reason is that he gets to work with his song Dylan in the group.
Moonalice was formed in 2007 by Roger McNamee. The band’s origins and the story behind Lester joining the group are told by Lester in the interview. In short, Moonalice is a ten-piece group that features the father-son duo of Lester and Dylan Chambers, the T-Sisters vocal trio of Erika, Chloe, and Rachel Tietjen, and some all-star musicians, including Pete Sears on bass, who many rock fans may recognize from Jefferson Starship as well as Barry Sless, John Molo, Jason Crosby, and Roger McNamee.
The psychedelic soul that fueled the music of The Chamber Brothers is present in the band Moonalice. If you watch one of their videos, you will notice the sounds of ’60s soul and groove and the very apparent family bonds that the group shares.
On December 8, 2023, Moonalice will be releasing the EP Father & Son. Looking ahead, Moonalice is set to release an acoustic companion EP, Mother & Child, on December 29th.
