Jessie Murph built her career with the kind of emotional clarity that reaches people instantly, creating songs that feel confessional yet polished and sharp in production. Her early years were shaped by her decision to post covers and original material on social media. This path allowed her audience to form before she ever stepped into the traditional music industry. That foundation helped her transform from a young independent creator into a major-label artist with a rapidly expanding catalog and a growing presence across pop, country, R&B, and alternative music.
Her rise accelerated after she signed with Columbia Records in 2021 and released early singles including “Upgrade,” “Always Been You,” and “Pray.” Those recordings built momentum for her 2023 debut mixtape, drowning, which introduced a fuller picture of her writing through songs about vulnerability, heartbreak, isolation, and self-definition. The eleven-song project included “Where Do You Go,” “What Happened to Ryan,” “They Leave,” “About You,” “If I Died Last Night,” and “How Could You.”
Murph reached a wider audience in 2023 through several high-profile collaborations. “Texas,” recorded with Maren Morris, emphasized the country influence in her songwriting, while “Heartbroken,” with Diplo and Polo G, placed her voice in a different musical setting. Her duet with Jelly Roll, “Wild Ones,” became her first song to reach the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 and established the foundation for her debut studio album.
That debut album, That Ain’t No Man That’s the Devil, arrived in 2024. The twelve-song record included collaborations with Jelly Roll, Teddy Swims, Koe Wetzel, and Bailey Zimmerman while expanding the mix of pop, country, hip-hop, and R&B that had already defined her work. Songs such as “Gotta Hold,” “Dirty,” “Son of a Bitch,” “I Hope It Hurts,” “Love Lies,” and “Bang Bang (The Ballad of Amy Fisher)” kept emotional conflict at the center of the album.
In 2025, Murph released her second studio album, Sex Hysteria. Its original fifteen-song edition included “Gucci Mane,” “1965,” “Touch Me Like a Gangster,” “Heroin,” “Blue Strips,” and “Best Behavior.” A twenty-three-song deluxe edition followed later that year, adding “I Stay I Leave I Love I Lose,” “Wildflowers and Wine,” “Easy Sunday Living,” “Forever,” “No Chance,” “I’m Not There for You,” “Outside,” and “Certain Kind of Love.” The song “Ur A Bitch,” removed from the digital album, was issued as a vinyl-exclusive bonus track.
Murph’s official catalog also reaches beyond her primary releases. She recorded “Nothing Else Matters” for the Fast X soundtrack, joined BigXthaPlug on “Holy Ground,” released a remix of “Blue Strips” with Sexyy Red, and issued a live rendition of “Hallelujah.” In 2026, she released “Criminal” for the film Scream 7.
Across these recordings, Jessie Murph’s music continues to draw strength from direct language and emotionally exposed performances. Her songs often sound less like carefully distanced narratives than conversations taking place in real time, an approach that has remained central as her catalog has moved across genres and reached a wider audience.
