Emerson, Lake & Palmer stand as one of the most important progressive rock bands ever. Yet, their significance is often ignored in the modern era. This list helps to open the eyes of many who have ignored them. (ELP) which was an English progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1970. The band consisted of keyboardist Keith Emerson, singer/bassist/guitarist Greg Lake, and drummer/percussionist Carl Palmer. They were one of the most successful and innovative bands of the progressive rock genre, pioneering the integration of classical music elements with rock and roll.
ELP achieved considerable commercial success, particularly in the 1970s. Their debut album, “Emerson, Lake & Palmer” (1970), and “Tarkus” (1971) were both significant hits. “Brain Salad Surgery” (1973) is often considered their masterpiece, featuring the ambitious suite “Karn Evil 9.”

Works Volume 1

“Works Volume 1” is a double album by Emerson, Lake & Palmer, released in 1977. This ambitious work consists of individual solo works by each member and a group-composed side. It highlights each member’s distinct talents while maintaining the band’s cohesive sound. I saw the Works tour during the summer of 1977 at MSG with an 80-piece orchestra. It was unbelievable.
The album was recorded at Mountain Studios, Montreux, Switzerland, and CBS Studios, London, in 1976. It peaked at No. 9 in the UK and No. 12 in the US.
