Hurricane was formed in the early 1980s in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Kelly Hansen, guitarist Robert Sarzo, bassist Tony Cavazo, and drummer Jay Schellen. The band’s formation was a confluence of experienced musicians, with Cavazo and Sarzo having connections to already established musicians (Carlos Cavazo of Quiet Riot and Rudy Sarzo of Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot, respectively). Many people may recognize Kelly Hansen as the current lead vocalist in the band Foreigner.

Take What You Want
Released 1985
Take What You Want marked Hurricane’s debut in the rock scene, showcasing their hard rock and heavy metal sound. The album featured Kelly Hansen on lead vocals, Robert Sarzo on guitar, Tony Cavazo on bass, and Jay Schellen on drums. Produced by Kevin Beamish, it was released under Enigma Records.
