Springsteen Jams With Paul McCartney Last Night At Metlife Stadium

The greatest musical artist of all time met the greatest musical performer of all time together on stage in the swamps of Jersey at Metlife Stadium on June 16th 2022. As the crowd of 60,o00 people were enjoying the show of their lives while also celebrating Paul McCartney’s upcoming 80 birthday, the show took a giant leap into legendary status when Bruce Springsteen surprised everyone with his appearance on stage. Playing in Springsteen’s hometown of New Jersey, Paul McCartney was already lighting up the entire State of New Jersey with a performance that defined the man as truly ageless. Sounding in much better voice than he did a few years back when he played Metlife Stadium, Paul McCartney and his amazing band were on fire. These guys could play.

Bruce Springsteen joined the band after Paul McCartney’s performance of the Wings classic “Band On The Run.” A song that stands as one of his greatest recording in his post-Beatles era. After already draining the crowd with close to thirty songs, Paul McCartney looked towards the huge audience and said “We got a special surprise for you, A friend of mine, he’s a local boy. I think you guessed it! I said you got to come and sing with us!  The crowd went nuts when a very trim and healthy-looking Bruce Springsteen walked on stage when his trademark Fender Telecaster.

Bruce Springsteen then counted Paul McCartney’s band into the song just like he does every night with his own E Street Band. Paul stood next to him playing the famous baseline perfectly. Bruce Springsteen sang the lead vocal on the entire song as Paul McCartney sang harmony on the chorus and actually did some cool singing at the end in a very special rock ‘n’ roll Beatles Paul McCartney voice.

It was obvious that after performing the Bruce Springsteen number, Paul McCartney wasn’t going to let Bruce Springsteen go without performing one with Paul. The band then jumped into the Beatles classic “I Wanna Be Your Man,” with Bruce and Paul trading verses. If you were there, you realized you were witnessing a truly legendary moment as two of the most important and greatest stars in classic rock history were performing just like they were twenty years old again. If you ever need proof that rock and roll keeps one young, it was right there on that New Jersey stage last night in the Meadowlands.

Bruce Springsteen appeared again at the end of the show to play guitar on the show-closing “Abbey Road Medley.” New Jersey’s own Bon Jovi also appeared on stage to wish Paul McCartney a happy birthday but did not perform with the band.
