Tawny Kitaen Actress And Star Of Whitesnake Videos passed away at her home in Newport Beach California on Friday evening. No other information is available yet. The cause of death is still unknown. Music fans first came to know Tawny Kitaen from her dazzling performances in the 1980’s Whitesnake Videos. One will never forget the sheer beauty of Tawny Kitaen as she rolled across the hood of a car with David Coverdale in the driver’s seat. Her appearances in those Whitesnake videos were a huge reason while David Coverdale and his band had such a successive run of singles in the 1980s. MTV was a powerful medium and David Coverdale and his girlfriend Tawny Kitaen used the channel perfectly to make a lot of money.

Before Tawny Kitaen became the star of all those great Whitesnake videos, she had begun a career as an actress. Tawny Kitaen’s first television appearance was on a game show in 1976 entitled To Tell the Truth. One of her first acting roles was on a television show entitled Malibu in 1983. She played Meredith Ross in a television soap opera called Capitol. Another soap opera she appeared in was called Santa Barbara in which she played the role of Lisa DiNapoli in 1989. That same year she starred opposite Richard Grieco in the television show Booker.

As far as films went, one of her first was a role in the film The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak. But, perhaps her most famous role was starring opposite Tom Hanks in the 1984 motion picture Bachelor Party. After she became more well-known from the Whitesnake videos she received more opportunities to act on television. She had a somewhat steady roll on the very popular television show  The New WKRP in Cincinnati. She also starred opposite Jerry Seinfeld as his girlfriend in one of the episodes of Seinfeld in 1991.

Tawny Kitaen continued her show business career throughout the 1990s even scoring a role as a co-host on America’s Funniest People for two years. However Tanya Kitaen will always be remembered for her roles in the Whitesnake videos. She appeared in four Straight Whitesnake videos including videos for the songs “Here I Go Again, “Still of the Night”, “Is This Love,” and “The Deeper the Love.”

In recent years, Tawny Kitaen found herself in trouble often. In 2006, Tawny Kitaen was charged with cocaine possession which resulted in a six-month rehabilitation program. A few years later in 2009 she was addressed arrested for driving under the influence.

Tawny Kitaen married David Coverdale in 1989. It was a hot affair and made those videos even more magical as the steamy scenes that seems all to real were probably real indeed. Sadly, the couple divorced only two years later in 1991.

Farwell Tawny Kitaen. Our condolences to your family and friends.
