Our Top 10 A Day To Remember Songs list looks at the work of a Florida rock band that combines a wide range of styles and has been described as both metalcore and pop-punk. A Day To Remember formed in Ocala, Florida, in 2003. A year later, the band independently released the EP Halos for Heros, Dirt for the Dead and distributed copies at live shows.

The band’s full-length debut album, And Their Name Was Treason, was released in 2005. A Day To Remember followed it with For Those Who Have Heart in 2007. The album reached number 17 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart, and its 2008 reissue reached number 43 on the Independent Albums chart. After rerecording songs from the debut album for Old Record, the band released its third studio album, Homesick, in 2009. Homesick reached number 21 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Independent Albums chart.

In 2010, A Day To Remember released its fourth album, What Separates Me from You, which, like Homesick, was produced with Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory. After a legal battle with Victory Records, the band self-released Common Courtesy in 2013. Bad Vibrations followed in 2016, and the band collaborated with Marshmello on “Rescue Me” in 2019.

A Day To Remember released You’re Welcome in 2021. The band’s eighth studio album, Big Ole Album Vol. 1, arrived in 2025, proving that the group remained committed to combining heavy breakdowns, melodic hooks, and massive choruses more than two decades after forming.

A Day To Remember became one of the most successful bands to emerge from the mid-2000s pop-punk and metalcore scene. The group also created the Self Help Festival, which brought together major acts from contemporary punk, emo, hardcore, and metal. Here is our list of the band’s ten best songs.

# 10 – “1958”

Kicking off our Top 10 A Day To Remember Songs list is this track from the band’s 2005 debut album, And Their Name Was Treason. Like several other songs on the album, “1958” features a film sample, this one taken from The Boondock Saints. It is also one of the songs the band wrote while its members were still teenagers.

# 9 – “It’s Complicated”

“It’s Complicated” was released as the third single from A Day To Remember’s fourth album, What Separates Me from You. The song reached number 34 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart and number 38 on the Mainstream Rock chart. The band also performed an acoustic version for MTV. It is one of the more pop-oriented songs in the A Day To Remember catalog, sounding at times like a heavier version of Blink-182.

# 8 – “The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle”

This next track comes from the band’s second album, For Those Who Have Heart, released in 2007. The album reached number 17 on the US Heatseekers Albums chart and represented a major step forward from the band’s debut. “The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle” served as one of the album’s defining songs and received its own music video.

# 7 – “You Be Tails, I’ll Be Sonic”

Here we have another track from What Separates Me from You. It is one of the band’s heavier songs, but it still contains the strong sense of melody A Day To Remember often incorporates into its music. Although the title references Sonic the Hedgehog, the lyrics have nothing to do with the video game. Instead, they draw upon personal events in guitarist Kevin Skaff’s life.

# 6 – “I’m Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?”

The next song on this list comes from the group’s third album, Homesick, released in 2009. It features guest vocals from Mike Hranica, frontman of The Devil Wears Prada. A music video was also filmed for the song. Homesick reached number 21 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Independent Albums chart.

# 5 – “Monument”

“Monument” was also released on the band’s second album, For Those Who Have Heart. This was A Day To Remember’s first album for Victory Records. In 2008, the record was reissued with new artwork, rerecorded tracks, and bonus material. The reissue helped return the album to the charts, where it peaked at number 43 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart.

# 4 – “Have Faith in Me”

In the number four spot is another song from Homesick. Released as a single, “Have Faith in Me” reached number 40 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. A music video was also produced for the song. Its sound has been compared to Blink-182, which is easy to hear. The lyrics focus on trust, friendship, and looking out for other people.

# 3 – “Breathe Hope in Me”

At the number three position on our list, we return to the beginning of the band’s career with this nonalbum track from the independently released 2004 EP Halos for Heros, Dirt for the Dead. The band recorded the EP in a single day and limited the original run to 2,000 copies. A video for “Breathe Hope in Me” was filmed while the members were still in high school. The EP ultimately helped A Day To Remember secure a deal with Indianola Records.

# 2 – “All Signs Point to Lauderdale”

“All Signs Point to Lauderdale” was released on the band’s fourth album, What Separates Me from You. New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert, who helped produce the album, also contributed during the writing process. The title emerged after vocalist Jeremy McKinnon and bassist Josh Woodard saw Lauderdale identified on a road sign while walking through a struggling neighborhood. The song received a music video and charted on Billboard’s Rock Songs and Alternative Songs charts.

# 1 – “The Downfall of Us All”

Topping our list is this song from Homesick. It opens the album with an instantly recognizable vocal introduction and remains one of A Day To Remember’s defining anthems. When Jeremy McKinnon first suggested using it as the opening track, the rest of the band was reportedly uncertain, but the finished recording quickly changed their minds.

The song addresses the pressure musicians face when writing new material and trying to satisfy their audience. It received its own music video and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2014. Critics praised its anthemic sound, and it has continued to serve as one of the band’s most effective concert songs.
