The Fabulous Poodles released three studio albums: their self-titled debut “Fabulous Poodles” in 1977, “Unsuitable” in 1978, and “Think Pink” in 1979. While they did not release any live albums, their studio work captured the essence of their energetic and theatrical live performances. The band did not record any compilations during their active years and did not win any major music awards. Their chart success was modest; they gained some recognition in the UK, but were more successful in the United States, where the single “Mirror Star” from their second album “Unsuitable” garnered attention. Despite never achieving major commercial success, the Fabulous Poodles were noted for their unique style and are remembered for their contribution to the new wave scene.
Fabulous Poodles

The debut self-titled album, Fabulous Poodles, set the tone for the band’s unique blend of rock, pop, and humorous lyrics. The band at this time featured Tony De Meur on vocals and guitar, Bobby Valentino on violin and mandolin, Richie Robertson on bass, and Bryn Burrows on drums. John Entwistle, the bassist of The Who, produced the album.

Unsuitable
Released 1978
Unsuitable, the band’s second album, continued in the vein of their debut, mixing rock and pop with humor and satire. This album saw the Fabulous Poodles working with producer John Parsons and further refining their distinctive sound. The album contained a mix of energetic rock numbers and more melodic tunes, showcasing the band’s versatility.

Think Pink
