The album was written and arranged by Robert Smith, produced and mixed by Robert Smith and Paul Corkett, and recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales.
Songs of a Lost World reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and number four on the US Billboard 200. In 2026, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, while “Alone” won Best Alternative Music Performance.
