The Chambers Brothers were an American soul and psychedelic rock band, best known for their 1968 hit single “Time Has Come Today.” The group was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1954 by brothers George, Joe, Lester, and Willie Chambers, who had grown up singing gospel in Mississippi before relocating to Southern California. They began their career performing gospel and folk music but later expanded their repertoire to include blues, soul, funk, and rock.

The Chambers Brothers released six studio albums during their original recording career and 1970s reunion: The Time Has Come (1967), A New Time – A New Day (1968), Feelin’ the Blues (1969), New Generation (1971), Unbonded (1974), and Right Move (1975). The band also completed the studio album Oh My God! in 1972, but it remained unreleased until it was made available digitally in 2022. They achieved significant success with their blend of soul, funk, and psychedelic rock, particularly with “Time Has Come Today,” which became a counterculture anthem and reached number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100. Feelin’ the Blues (1969)

It was produced by David Rubinson & Friends, Inc., with Bruce Good and Jeffrey Cohen as associate producers, and recorded at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco, California.
