The Outlaws are a Southern rock band whose roots trace back to Tampa, Florida, in 1967, with the classic incarnation taking shape in 1972. Known for their three-guitar attack and harmony-driven sound, the group became a defining act of the Southern rock movement of the 1970s. Over the years, The Outlaws have released albums including Outlaws (1975), Hurry Sundown (1977), Soldiers of Fortune (1986), It’s About Pride (2012), and Dixie Highway (2020), with enduring songs such as “Green Grass and High Tides” and “There Goes Another Love Song.” In 2026, Henry Paul continues to lead the band with Dave Robbins, Randy Threet, Jeff Aulich, Jimmy Dormire, Mike Bailey, and Henry “Little Hank” Paul IV.

Henry Paul

Henry Paul joined The Outlaws in 1972 as a guitarist and vocalist and became a crucial part of the harmony-laden Southern rock sound heard on Outlaws (1975), Lady in Waiting (1976), and Hurry Sundown (1977). He left in 1977 to form the Henry Paul Band, returned to The Outlaws from 1983 to 1989, rejoined for the 2005 reunion before leaving again in 2006, and returned once more in 2008. Paul has led the band ever since, including on later releases such as It’s About Pride (2012) and Dixie Highway (2020).

Dave Robbins

Dave Robbins joined The Outlaws in 2005 as a keyboardist and backing vocalist. He left in 2006, returned in 2010, and remains a member of the band. Robbins played on It’s About Pride (2012) and continues to provide keyboards and harmony vocals in the group’s current lineup.

Randy Threet

Randy Threet joined The Outlaws in 2005 as bassist and vocalist and remains with the group. He has contributed to both live performances and studio work, including It’s About Pride (2012), and his bass playing and vocal harmonies continue to anchor the band’s Southern rock sound.

Jeff Aulich

Jeff Aulich joined The Outlaws in 2021 as a guitarist and vocalist after Steve Grisham retired. He has been part of the band’s touring lineup ever since, helping carry the group’s multi-guitar sound into its current era. As of 2026, he remains an active member of The Outlaws.

Jimmy Dormire

Jimmy Dormire joined The Outlaws in 2021 as a guitarist and vocalist. He brought extensive experience in Southern rock and country to the band and has primarily contributed through live performances. As of 2026, Dormire remains a current member of the group.

Mike Bailey

Mike Bailey joined The Outlaws in 2022 as drummer after Michael Grando’s brief tenure earlier that year. Bailey has since become part of the band’s active touring lineup and was still performing with The Outlaws in 2026. He has not yet appeared on an Outlaws studio album.

Henry Paul IV

Henry “Little Hank” Paul IV, the son of Henry Paul, officially joined The Outlaws in 2025 as a guitarist and vocalist. His arrival expanded the band’s guitar lineup while extending the Paul family connection into a new generation. Paul IV remained part of the active touring lineup in 2026, contributing lead and harmony vocals as well as guitar.

Hughie Thomasson

Hughie Thomasson was a founding member of The Outlaws, serving as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. He was with the band from its inception in 1967 until 1996, and again from 2005 until his death in 2007. Thomasson played on every classic Outlaws album, including Outlaws (1975), Lady in Waiting (1976), and Hurry Sundown (1977). He was known for his guitar solos and was a key songwriter, contributing tracks like “Green Grass and High Tides.” Thomasson also played with Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1996 to 2005, further cementing his place in Southern rock history.

Frank Guidry

Frank Guidry was an original member of The Outlaws, joining as a guitarist and lead vocalist in 1967. He was part of the band during its formative years but left in 1968 before the band achieved mainstream success. Guidry helped shape the early sound of The Outlaws, setting the foundation for their Southern rock style.

Herb Pino

Herb Pino joined The Outlaws in 1967 as a guitarist and vocalist. He played with the band during its early years and contributed to their initial development. Pino left the band in 1970 but returned briefly in 1971-1972. He played a significant role in the band’s vocal harmonies during their early period.

David Dix

David Dix was one of the original drummers for The Outlaws, serving during 1967–1969, briefly returning in 1970, then rejoining from 1977 to 1987 and again for the 2005–2007 reunion period. He contributed to albums including Hurry Sundown (1977) and Playin’ to Win (1978), and his powerful drumming became an important part of the band’s rhythm section.

Phil Holmberg

Frank O’Keefe

Frank O’Keefe joined The Outlaws in 1967 as a bassist, guitarist, and vocalist. He played with the band until 1973, then rejoined in 1974, staying until 1976. Tommy Angarano

Ronny Elliot

Ronny Elliot briefly played bass for The Outlaws in 1968 for two weeks. Though his time with the band was short, he was part of the lineup that contributed to the band’s early sound.

Monte Yoho

Monte Yoho first joined The Outlaws in 1969 and returned from 1970 to 1979, later rejoining for the 2005 reunion and remaining until his retirement in 2021. He played on classic albums including Outlaws (1975), Lady in Waiting (1976), and Hurry Sundown (1977), and was one of the defining drummers of the band’s classic era.

Dave Graham

Dave Graham joined The Outlaws in 1970 as a guitarist, pianist, and vocalist. He played during the early years of the band but left before they reached their peak success. Graham’s contributions helped shape the band’s early musical direction.

Billy Jones

Billy Jones first appeared with the developing Outlaws lineup in 1971 and became a full-time guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist in the rebuilt band from 1972 until 1981. He played a major role on albums including Outlaws (1975), Lady in Waiting (1976), and Hurry Sundown (1977). Jones was known for his versatile musicianship and powerful vocals. He died in 1995.

Buzzy Meekins

Buzzy Meekins joined The Outlaws in 1973 as a bassist. He played with the band for a year before leaving in 1974. Meekins contributed to the band’s early live performances and passed away in 2015.

Rick Birkbeck

Rick Birkbeck briefly joined The Outlaws in 1974 as a bassist. He contributed to the band’s live performances but left before they recorded any major albums.

Harvey Dalton Arnold

Harvey Dalton Arnold joined The Outlaws in 1976 as a bassist and vocalist. He played on albums like Hurry Sundown (1977), Playin’ to Win (1978), and In the Eye of the Storm (1979). Arnold’s bass work and vocals were a key component of the band’s sound during the late 1970s. He left the band in 1980 and went on to have a solo career in blues music.

Freddie Salem

Freddie Salem joined The Outlaws in 1977 as a guitarist and vocalist. He played on albums such as Playin’ to Win (1978), In the Eye of the Storm (1979), and Ghost Riders (1980). Salem’s guitar work added a harder edge to the band’s sound. He left in 1983 and passed away in 2024.

Rick Cua

Rick Cua joined The Outlaws in 1980 as a bassist and vocalist. He contributed to Ghost Riders (1980) and Los Hombres Malo (1982), helping carry the rhythm section through a period of major lineup changes. Cua left in 1983 and went on to build a successful solo career in Christian rock music.

Mike Duke

Mike Duke joined The Outlaws in 1980 as a keyboardist and vocalist. He was a part of the band during the recording of Ghost Riders (1980). Duke’s keyboard skills added depth to the band’s sound, particularly in live performances. He left the band in 1981 and continued his career as a session musician.

Bob Jenkins

Steve Grisham
