Geese formed in Brooklyn in 2016 while its members were still attending high school. Cameron Winter, Emily Green, Dominic DiGesu, and Max Bassin began playing together as teenagers, rehearsing and recording in the basement of Bassin’s family home in Fort Greene. Guitarist Foster Hudson later expanded the group into a five-piece during the period that produced its first nationally released records.

The band’s earliest recordings were made independently and circulated before Geese signed with Partisan Records. Those releases included a self-titled EP, the album A Beautiful Memory, and the EP Bottomless Pink Lagoon. Much of that material was later removed from official streaming platforms, and Partisan subsequently presented Projector as Geese’s debut album. That distinction explains why some discographies count four Geese albums while the band and label describe Getting Killed as the group’s third official studio album.

Geese recorded the songs that became Projector in Bassin’s basement while the members were finishing high school. The band initially expected to separate so everyone could attend college, but the recordings attracted interest from several independent labels. Geese signed with Partisan Records and released Projector in October 2021.

The album introduced a restless form of art rock and post-punk built around Winter’s highly elastic singing, Green and Hudson’s interlocking guitars, DiGesu’s bass lines, and Bassin’s energetic drumming. Rather than settling into one fixed style, the band moved between angular guitar music, extended instrumental passages, dance rhythms, and atmospheric sections.

3D Country arrived in June 2023 and pushed Geese toward a broader mixture of rock, country, funk, gospel, psychedelia, and theatrical performance. The album was produced by James Ford and included “Cowboy Nudes,” “Mysterious Love,” “I See Myself,” and its title track. The companion EP 4D Country followed later that year with additional recordings from the same creative period.

Foster Hudson left Geese in 2023 to focus on his academic studies. The remaining musicians continued as a four-piece, with Winter adding more guitar to his existing lead-vocal and keyboard responsibilities. Keyboardist and keytar player Sam Revaz has also supported the band during live performances.

Winter released his first solo album, Heavy Metal, in December 2024. The record moved away from Geese’s full-band attack toward piano, acoustic instruments, orchestral color, and intimate songwriting. His solo work increased attention around the next Geese album without replacing his role as the band’s singer and primary songwriter.

Geese recorded Getting Killed in Los Angeles with producer Kenneth Blume. Released in September 2025, the album was the first full Geese studio record made after Hudson’s departure. “Taxes,” “Trinidad,” “100 Horses,” “Cobra,” “Husbands,” and “Au Pays du Cocaine” combined tightly constructed rock songs with abrupt rhythmic shifts, distorted textures, repetition, improvisation, and a more emotionally exposed vocal performance from Winter.

The album significantly expanded the band’s audience. Geese performed “Au Pays du Cocaine” and “Trinidad” on Saturday Night Live in January 2026 and won the Brit Award for International Group of the Year the following month. The concert album Geese: Live at Third Man Records, recorded direct-to-acetate in Nashville, was released in February 2026.

By August 2026, Geese consisted of Cameron Winter, Emily Green, Dominic DiGesu, and Max Bassin, with Sam Revaz appearing as a touring musician. The band’s continuing appeal comes from the way each member contributes to a sound that can move from tightly controlled ensemble playing to apparent collapse without losing its sense of direction.

Cameron Winter

Cameron Winter is a founding member of Geese and serves as the band’s lead vocalist, keyboardist, principal songwriter, and occasional guitarist. His singing can move between a low croon, spoken delivery, falsetto, full-throated shouts, and deliberately unstable melodic phrasing. That range became one of the most immediately recognizable elements of Projector, 3D Country, and Getting Killed.

Winter’s role extends beyond singing. He develops song structures, lyrics, keyboard parts, and many of the ideas that the band reshapes collectively during rehearsal and recording. After Geese became a four-piece, he also took on additional guitar responsibilities in the studio and onstage.

His debut solo album, Heavy Metal, was released in 2024. The record used piano, acoustic instrumentation, and spacious arrangements to present a quieter side of his songwriting. Winter has continued recording and touring with Geese while maintaining his solo work as a separate creative outlet.

Emily Green

Emily Green is a founding member and the guitarist of Geese. Her playing is central to the band’s ability to shift between sharp rhythmic figures, open-ended textures, distorted chords, and melodic lines that often function as atmosphere rather than traditional lead guitar.

Green appeared on the band’s early independent recordings and every official Geese album. During the five-piece era, her guitar frequently intertwined with Foster Hudson’s parts. Since Hudson’s departure, her playing has carried a larger share of the group’s guitar architecture while leaving room for Winter’s keyboards and additional guitar.

Her live approach emphasizes interaction with the rhythm section rather than fixed solo passages. Green, DiGesu, and Bassin often create the framework that allows Winter’s vocals and arrangements to move unpredictably without causing the songs to lose momentum.

Dominic DiGesu

Dominic DiGesu is a founding member and the bassist of Geese. He participated in the group’s earliest basement rehearsals and recordings and appears throughout the band’s independent and Partisan Records catalogs.

DiGesu’s bass playing provides much of the connection between Bassin’s shifting drum patterns and the band’s layered guitar and keyboard arrangements. His parts can operate as direct rock foundations, repeated grooves, melodic counterlines, or anchors beneath sections that become increasingly chaotic.

He has remained focused primarily on Geese, and no major solo album or separate long-term band project has become part of his public discography.

Max Bassin

Max Bassin is a founding member and the drummer of Geese. The basement of his family’s Fort Greene home served as the band’s rehearsal and recording space during its formative years and played an important role in the creation of the material that became Projector.

Bassin’s drumming is one of the defining features of Geese’s live sound. He moves between straight rock beats, syncopated grooves, abrupt accents, rolling fills, and patterns that make the music feel unstable without breaking the ensemble’s control.

His work became especially prominent on Getting Killed, where the rhythm section drives songs through repetition, sudden transitions, and changing levels of intensity. Bassin has not released a major solo project outside Geese.

Sam Revaz

Sam Revaz is a touring keyboardist and keytar player who has performed with Geese during the band’s post-Projector years. He is not listed as a full-time studio member, but his live role helps reproduce and expand the keyboard-heavy arrangements while Winter moves between vocals, keyboards, and guitar.

Former Geese Band Member

Foster Hudson

Foster Hudson joined Geese as a second guitarist during the period leading to Projector. His presence gave the band a two-guitar lineup and contributed to the dense, interlocking arrangements heard on Projector and 3D Country.

Hudson also contributed additional vocals and toured with the band during its rise from basement recording project to internationally recognized touring act. Geese announced his departure in December 2023, explaining that he had stepped away to continue his academic studies. The band supported his decision and continued as a four-piece.
