Pink Floyd built one of the most important catalogs in rock history, moving from Syd Barrett’s psychedelic experiments to the conceptual masterpieces that made the band a global force. This complete Pink Floyd songs list presents the group’s studio and live catalog in alphabetical and chronological order, giving fans a detailed guide to one of rock’s most influential discographies.

Our Complete List of Pink Floyd Songs A-Z, presented in alphabetical and chronological order, presents the entire Pink Floyd studio catalog in two separate listings. The article also contains the complete Pink Floyd studio album discography. This list also includes the band’s official live albums. All studio and live albums include the original track listings.
Pink Floyd began in the fertile underground music scene of London in 1965, emerging from a group of architecture students and musicians led by Syd Barrett. The original lineup included Barrett on vocals and guitar, Roger Waters on bass, Richard Wright on keyboards, and Nick Mason on drums. Initially known for their experimental blend of psychedelia and light shows, they became regulars at clubs like the UFO Club and quickly developed a following for their surreal, improvisational performances. Their debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, released in 1967, was a landmark of British psychedelia, but Barrett’s increasing mental health struggles and erratic behavior soon forced the band to recruit guitarist David Gilmour and ultimately part ways with Barrett in 1968.
With Waters and Gilmour stepping into leading creative roles, Pink Floyd shifted toward expansive, conceptual works that explored alienation, war, madness, and existential themes. Albums like A Saucerful of Secrets (1968) and Meddle (1971) laid the foundation for their future sound, but it was The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) that changed everything. This album spent 14 consecutive years on the Billboard 200 and became one of the best-selling records of all time, thanks to tracks like “Money,” “Time,” and “Us and Them.” It was a masterclass in studio experimentation, conceptual storytelling, and sonic cohesion, marking a new level of commercial and artistic success for the band.
Their 1975 release Wish You Were Here paid tribute to Syd Barrett and included the epic “Shine On You Crazy Diamond,” while 1977’s Animals offered a scathing critique of capitalist society. Pink Floyd’s next album, The Wall (1979), became another massive commercial and cultural event. Written largely by Waters, the double album told the story of a rock star’s psychological collapse and included hit singles such as “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2,” which topped charts worldwide. The subsequent tour was one of the most elaborate in rock history, featuring massive props, projections, and the construction (and destruction) of a literal wall between the band and audience.
Tensions within the group worsened during and after The Wall, and Wright was briefly dismissed while it was being recorded. Their next album, The Final Cut (1983), marked the end of the Waters era. Waters officially left in 1985, leading to a legal battle over the band’s name. Gilmour, Mason, and eventually Wright continued without him, releasing A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994), both of which found commercial success and sparked large-scale tours, reaffirming the band’s popularity even in Waters’ absence. These albums featured songs like “Learning to Fly” and “High Hopes,” and though critical reception was mixed, fan response was overwhelmingly positive.
Altogether, Pink Floyd released 15 studio albums, including their final studio effort, The Endless River, in 2014, which was largely based on unreleased material from the Division Bell sessions and served as a tribute to Wright, who passed away in 2008. The band also released several live albums, compilations, and box sets, cementing their position as one of the best-selling music artists of all time with an estimated 250 million records sold worldwide.
Pink Floyd received numerous accolades throughout their career. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. The visual elements of their work—created through partnerships with designers like Storm Thorgerson and the team at Hipgnosis—became as iconic as the music itself, turning album covers like The Dark Side of the Moon and Animals into instantly recognizable cultural symbols.
Outside of music, members of Pink Floyd have been involved in philanthropy, environmental advocacy, and political activism. Waters became known for his outspoken political views and support for various global causes, while Gilmour has donated millions to charity through guitar auctions and benefit performances. Despite internal conflicts, the band’s legacy remains firmly intact. Their music continues to inspire new generations of listeners and musicians, and their influence can still be felt in every corner of modern progressive and conceptual rock.
