Brent Smith
Brent Smith is the founding member and lead vocalist of Shinedown, having been with the band since its inception in 2001. Smith was instrumental in the creation of all of Shinedown’s albums, from their debut “Leave a Whisper” in 2003 to their most recent releases. He has been involved in the writing process for many of the band’s hits, which have contributed to their multiple platinum records. Beyond Shinedown, Smith has collaborated with other artists and contributed solo performances to various projects, further showcasing his versatility as a vocalist.
Barry Kerch
Barry Kerch is the drummer and the only other remaining original member of Shinedown aside from Brent Smith. Joining the band at its formation, Kerch has been a consistent presence behind the kit, contributing to the band’s heavy, driving rhythm section. He has played on all of Shinedown’s albums and is known for his solid, energetic drumming style that complements their hard rock sound. Outside of Shinedown, Kerch has kept a relatively low profile, focusing primarily on his work with the band.
Zach Myers
Zach Myers joined Shinedown as a touring guitarist in 2005 before becoming an official member in 2008. He has since contributed to the band’s studio albums starting with “The Sound of Madness.” Myers’ guitar work is a key component of Shinedown’s sound, characterized by its melodic yet robust riffs and solos. Apart from Shinedown, Myers has engaged in side projects, including the duo Smith & Myers, where he explores different musical styles and collaborations.
Eric Bass
Eric Bass joined Shinedown in 2008 as the bassist and backing vocalist. He has been involved in the production side of the band’s projects, including playing a significant role in producing their album “Attention Attention.” His musical contributions extend beyond bass playing to songwriting and arranging, helping to shape the band’s evolving sound. Bass has also mixed and produced works for other artists, showcasing his skills behind the mixing console as well as on stage.
Nick Perri
Nick Perri initially joined Shinedown as the lead guitarist in 2008 but departed from the band the same year. During his brief tenure with Shinedown, Perri contributed to the band’s live performances but did not participate in any studio album recordings. Before and after his time with Shinedown, Nick Perri gained recognition for his work with Silvertide, Perry Farrell, and his solo project, Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves. Perri’s career outside of Shinedown has been marked by his distinctive guitar style and his ventures into music production and entrepreneurship, including launching his own line of guitars.
Jasin Todd
Jasin Todd co-founded Shinedown in 2001 and served as the band’s original guitarist. He was instrumental in the creation and success of the early albums, including “Leave a Whisper” (2003) and “Us and Them” (2005). His guitar work helped shape the band’s sound with a blend of gritty riffs and melodic hooks. Todd remained with the band until 2008, contributing to their rise in the rock music scene. After leaving Shinedown, Todd continued his musical career with other projects, exploring different musical genres and collaborations, though none as high-profile as his tenure with Shinedown.
Brad Stewart
Brad Stewart was the original bassist for Shinedown, joining at the band’s formation in 2001 and playing on their debut album “Leave a Whisper” and their second release, “Us and Them.” Stewart’s bass playing was foundational in establishing Shinedown’s heavy, melodic rock sound. He left the band in 2007 to pursue other musical interests and projects. Post-Shinedown, Stewart has been involved in various musical endeavors, including playing with the band Fuel and participating in other collaborative musical projects. His post-Shinedown career has continued to evolve, showing his versatility and commitment to his craft in the music industry.
