Queen Issues Fantastic Unreleased Song With Freddie Mercury

It’s been a long time since we have heard anything new from Queen that features the vocals of the late Freddie Mercury. There just doesn’t seem to be any unreleased music recorded with Freddie Mercury that has not already been released. The last unreleased music that was issued by Queen with Freddie Mercury on vocals was released in 2014 on their greatest hits compilation called Queen Forvever. That album featured the unreleased tracks ‘Let Me in Your Heart Again,’ ‘Love Kills’ and a song called “There Must Be More to Life Than This” which was a duet between Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson. It’s been eight years since Queen has released anything fueled by Freddie Mercury vocals that the public has not already heard before. It’s nice to hear something new that keeps the voice of Freddie Mercury still fresh in the hearts of classic rock fans.

The new Queen song with Freddie Mercury vocals is entitled “Face It Alone.” The band Queen is billing it as a “lost track.’ Queen first announced the release of the single a few months ago. The band actually performed the song live in concert with singer Adam Lambert who has been touring as the lead vocalist in Queen for the past several years.

After first discovering the track, Brian May and Roger Taylor were hesitant at releasing what they had found for various technical reasons. Nonetheless, with the help of modern studio techniques and a desire to release some new music that fans have never heard before, Queen has released the new single today on October 13, 2022. We have it below streaming from their YouTube channel.

In our opinion, this is much better than we were expecting. It’s vintage-sounding Freddie Mercury that once again defines why he is considered one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. The song will also be included on Queen’s reissue of the 1998 Miracle album. The Miracle album will be released as The Miracle Collector’s Edition Box Set which will feature eight CDs. It will be released on November 18th 2022.
