10 Classic Rock Song Alternate Choices To Here Comes The Bride

Are you the type that doesn’t like to follow traditions? Are you tired of everybody using the same old songs for the same old routines? Does it drive you crazy that all of these modern-day rituals like getting married, birthdays, and graduations all utilize the same old song every single stinking time?  Well, we’re here to help you out. This is classic rock, baby. This is a place of rebellion. The place where we stand up against the norm. It’s no longer “meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” The times are a changing; it’s time to roll with the changes and help fuel a revolution in the wedding business. Let’s give “Here Comes the Bride” a rest and turn up the music, getting the party started from the opening bells to the home stretch down Victory Boulevard. Know what I mean?

Basically, if you want to ditch “Here Comes the Bride” in favor of something with a little more pep and zest and or drama, we got a few for you……..

10 Classic Rock Song Alternate Choices To Here Comes The Bride

# 10 – The Final Countdown – Europe

We open up our 10 Classic Rock Songs Alternates To Here Comes The Bride songs list with a bit of the dramatic. This song is perfect. It’s cinematic, which is ideal for every bride who wants to look like a movie star. The audience will love it…..maybe. “The Final Countdown’s”  memorable synthesizer riff, played by Mic Michaeli is just perfect for that walk down the aisle. So what if the song features apocalyptic lyrics? You are getting married, for Pete’s sake, what are you expecting..happiness? Oh no, no, no, no, we didn’t say that.

# 9 – You Better Run

Do you want to know what every single, married person and couple is thinking as they watch you two walk down the aisle?  It’s not that hard to figure out. We have always liked Pat Benatar’s version a little better than the Rascals. It is a bit more dramatic, so why not just add a little more drama? You are getting married. You’re going to have a lot of drama every day….every day…………every single long day.

# 8 – Happy Together – The Turtles

Well, we dont want to rain down on your bridal parade completely. The truth is, maybe you will be one of the lucky, very rare couples who actually make it. If you are, and let me tell you, the chances are pretty slim, well, then here’s a fun song that wishes you well.

# 7 – Your My Best Friend – Queen

Okay, we are in a good mood now, so while it lasts, and that may be for only a few more minutes, or at least until my husband walks into the room, here’s another happy look at “what you are about to do,’ songs. Enjoy this one because it’s as sweet as we are going to get.

# 6 – What Are We Doing Here – Andre Cymone

This one is rare, but it’s oh-so-perfect because both of you are going to be thinking the same exact thing. Prince fans will know this one as Andre Cymone was part of the Paisley Park family of musicians and performers.  It’s got a great groove, and the bride will look pretty good bopping down the aisle to this one.

# 5 – Hells Bells – AC/DC

Okay, back on track with these very important classic rock songs to take the place of that tired “Here Come The Bride” song. What do you think of this one? Isn’t it perfect? It has the church bells at the beginning, so that works well if you are getting married in a church. Dont worry about the place where those bells are really supposed to be ringing. This is all about the theatrics that will provide a very entertaining walk down the aisle.

# 4 – Cold Sweat

Okay, now we are getting to the good stuff. James Brown is keeping it real with the words to this “tell it like it is” tune. Yeah, we are not fooling around with this one. It’s got the groove to make you move down the aisle with some funk in your step and some sweat on your….. The question is, who relates to this one more: the bride or the groom, or both?

# 3 – Hot Legs

If “Cold Sweat” doesn’t get your groove on, maybe you would instead rock out down the aisle to this classic Rod Stewart song. Just make sure the dress fits the part.  “Hot Legs” was released on Rod Stewart’s 1977 album Foot Loose & Fancy Free.

# 2 – I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On

A lot of questions are running through the minds of both the bride and groom just before that fateful moment. This may be one of them. Nonetheless, this one will be cool to play. It might even embarrass some of the chapel members. That’s a good thing.

# 1 – Feel Like Making Love – Bad Company

We close out our 10 Classic Rock Song Alternate Choices To Here Comes The Bride list with the perfect song for happy couples called “Feel Like Making Love.” Paul Rodgers and Bad Company really nailed it when they released this classic song. Why not celebrate the right way entirely from the start? You know how the night’s going to end up, hopefully. Let them all know, too.
