Blink-182 was formed in Poway, California, in 1992. Known for their influential role in the development of pop punk music, the band has released nine studio albums that have achieved substantial commercial success. They are particularly noted for their energetic live shows and humorous, tongue-in-cheek approach to music and videos. Throughout their career, Blink-182 has undergone several lineup changes and a notable hiatus but has consistently remained a significant force in the music industry. Their work has earned them numerous awards and accolades, and they have influenced countless other bands within the genre.

Mark Hoppus

Mark Hoppus is one of the founding members of Blink-182, serving as the band’s bassist and co-vocalist since 1992. He has been instrumental in shaping the band’s sound and has contributed to all of their studio albums. Hoppus is known for his catchy bass lines and distinctive vocal style, which have become defining features of Blink-182’s music. Outside of Blink-182, Hoppus has been involved in various music projects, including the band +44, and has worked as a record producer for other artists. He continues to be a key member of Blink-182.

Tom DeLonge

Tom DeLonge, guitarist and co-vocalist, co-founded Blink-182 with Mark Hoppus in 1992 and was a crucial part of the band until his departure in 2015. DeLonge’s guitar playing and vocal contributions were fundamental to the band’s early sound and major successes, including albums like Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. DeLonge is also known for his work with the band Angels & Airwaves, which he formed in 2005, and his interests in various business and film projects, particularly those related to his fascination with space and unidentified aerial phenomena.

Travis Barker

Joining the band in 1998, Travis Barker replaced original drummer Scott Raynor and quickly became renowned for his exceptional drumming skills. Barker’s fast, intricate drumming styles are featured on the majority of Blink-182’s albums, starting with Enema of the State. His ability significantly shaped the band’s dynamic and contributed to their commercial breakthrough. Beyond Blink-182, Barker has engaged in numerous musical collaborations across various genres, has released solo work, and is involved in fashion and record production.

Scott Raynor

Scott Raynor was the original drummer for Blink-182 from its formation in 1992 until 1998. He played on their first two albums, Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch. His punk rock drumming style helped establish the band’s early sound. Raynor left the band due to personal and creative differences. After departing from Blink-182, Raynor continued to play in various punk bands, though he did not achieve the same level of fame as he had with Blink-182.

Matt Skiba

Matt Skiba, guitarist and vocalist from Alkaline Trio, joined Blink-182 in 2015 following Tom DeLonge’s departure. Skiba has since been a part of the band, contributing to their later albums including California and Nine. His involvement brought a new dimension to the band’s music, blending his unique style with the established sound of Blink-182. Skiba’s role in Blink-182 has allowed the band to continue touring and recording despite the changes in the lineup.
