Ratt traces its roots to Mickey Ratt, the Los Angeles-area band formed by Stephen Pearcy in 1977. After numerous lineup changes and the shortening of the name to Ratt, the group established its classic early-1980s lineup with Pearcy, guitarists Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby, bassist Juan Croucier, and drummer Bobby Blotzer. Ratt became one of the defining bands of the 1980s glam metal and hard rock scene, with Out of the Cellar (1984) becoming a multi-platinum success.

Ratt released seven studio albums, beginning with Out of the Cellar in 1984 and ending with Infestation in 2010, in addition to the band’s influential 1983 self-titled EP, compilations, and live releases. The group experienced repeated lineup changes, breakups, reunions, and legal disputes over the Ratt name, but its classic recordings and songs such as “Round and Round,” “Lay It Down,” and “You’re in Love” remain central to the history of 1980s hard rock.

Ratt has been inactive as a full band since 2022. Beginning in 2025, Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini reunited to perform Ratt material under the Pearcy/DeMartini name rather than as Ratt, and those performances continued into 2026. Their touring lineup has included former Ratt guitarist Carlos Cavazo and early Ratt bassist Matt Thorr, along with drummer Blas Elias.

Stephen Pearcy

Stephen Pearcy is the founding frontman of Ratt, having formed the band’s early incarnation in 1977. He served as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist through 1992, returning during later periods from 1996 to 2000, 2007 to 2014, and 2016 to 2022. Pearcy contributed to every Ratt studio album and helped define the band’s sound on records including Out of the Cellar, Invasion of Your Privacy, and Dancing Undercover. Outside Ratt, he pursued a solo career and formed projects including Arcade and Vicious Delite. In 2025 and 2026, Pearcy reunited with Warren DeMartini for concerts billed under their own names rather than as Ratt.

Juan Croucier

Juan Croucier joined Ratt in 1982 on bass and backing vocals and remained through 1992. He later returned from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2022. Croucier played on Ratt’s 1983 EP and the band’s major-label albums of the 1980s and early 1990s, and archival recordings featuring his bass work also appeared on Collage in 1997. Before joining Ratt, Croucier had been a member of Dokken, and he later led the project Liquid Sunday.

Pete Holmes

Pete Holmes joined Ratt as drummer in 2018 and remained with the final touring lineup through 2022. He did not appear on a Ratt studio album. Holmes was previously known for his work with Black ‘n Blue and also performed with Juan Croucier’s Ratt-related projects.

Jordan Ziff

Jordan Ziff joined Ratt in 2018 as lead guitarist and backing vocalist, remaining with the band’s final touring lineup through 2022. He did not appear on any official Ratt studio recording.

Frankie Lindia

Frankie Lindia joined Ratt in 2021 as rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist after the departure of Chris Sanders. He remained with the band through 2022 and did not contribute to any Ratt studio album.

Chris Hager

Chris Hager was part of the early Mickey Ratt lineup from 1977 to 1981 as lead guitarist. He played on the 1980 single “Drivin’ on E” during the band’s formative period. After leaving the group, Hager went on to become a founding member of Rough Cutt.

Tim Garcia

Tim Garcia played bass and provided backing vocals for Mickey Ratt from 1977 to 1980. He was part of the lineup heard on the 1980 single “Drivin’ on E.” Garcia was an important member of the band’s earliest period and died in 2011.

Bob Eisenberg

Bob Eisenberg briefly played drums in the original 1977 Mickey Ratt lineup before being replaced by John Turner. He did not appear on any official Ratt release.

John Turner

John Turner played drums with Mickey Ratt from 1977 to 1981. He appears on the 1980 single “Drivin’ on E” and was part of the lineup that relocated to Los Angeles during the band’s early development.

Dave Jellison

Dave Jellison played bass and provided backing vocals for Mickey Ratt from 1980 to 1981 after Tim Garcia’s departure. He did not contribute to any official Ratt release.

Paul DeNisco

Paul DeNisco briefly served as a rhythm guitarist for Mickey Ratt in 1980. He did not participate in any official Ratt recordings.

Matt Thorr

Matt Thorr, also known as Matt Thorne, joined the band on bass and backing vocals from 1981 to 1982. He was part of the lineup that recorded “Tell the World” for the first edition of the Metal Massacre compilation in 1982. Thorr later worked with Rough Cutt and, decades later, joined Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini for their 2025 and 2026 performances of Ratt material.

Jake E. Lee

Jake E. Lee, also known as Jakey Lou Williams, played lead guitar during a brief 1981 lineup of the band. He did not appear on an official Ratt release and later became widely known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne before forming Badlands.

Bob DeLellis

Bob DeLellis briefly played rhythm guitar during the band’s 1981 transition period. His tenure was short, and he did not participate in an official Ratt recording.

Dave Alford

Dave Alford served as drummer during a short-lived 1981 lineup that also included Jake E. Lee, Bob DeLellis, and Matt Thorr. After leaving, Alford and Lee became involved with Rough Cutt.

Robbin Crosby

Robbin Crosby joined the developing Ratt lineup in 1981 and played lead and rhythm guitar and backing vocals through 1991. His guitar work, songwriting, and partnership with Warren DeMartini became essential parts of Ratt’s classic sound. Crosby appears on Ratt releases beginning with the 1982 version of “Tell the World” and throughout the band’s classic era. Although he had left the band years earlier, archival recordings featuring Crosby were later included on Collage in 1997. Crosby died in 2002.

Warren DeMartini

Warren DeMartini joined during Ratt’s early-1980s transition into its classic lineup and became one of the band’s most recognizable lead guitarists. He performed on releases from the early “Tell the World” period through Infestation in 2010, with later Ratt tenures extending through 2014 and again from 2016 to 2018. DeMartini’s technical precision and melodic solos were instrumental in defining Ratt’s sound. Beginning in 2025, he reunited with Stephen Pearcy for concerts featuring Ratt material under the Pearcy/DeMartini name, with additional performances continuing in 2026.

Khurt Maier

Khurt Maier played drums during Ratt’s 1981–1982 transition period before Bobby Blotzer joined the band. He was part of the lineup surrounding the early “Tell the World” era.

Gene Hunter

Gene Hunter briefly played bass for Ratt in 1982 during the band’s rapidly changing pre-classic lineup. He did not appear on a major Ratt release.

Bobby Blotzer

Bobby Blotzer joined Ratt in 1982 and became the drummer of the classic lineup, remaining through 1992 and returning from 1996 to 2014. His official recording run begins with Ratt’s 1983 self-titled EP and continues through Infestation in 2010. Blotzer was known for his powerful drumming style and was a consistent member throughout the band’s peak commercial years. During Ratt’s later legal disputes, he also led Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience and a touring lineup that performed under the Ratt name between 2015 and 2017.

Marq Torien

Marq Torien, also known as Mark Maytorena, briefly played lead and rhythm guitar and provided backing vocals for Ratt in 1982. He did not appear on an official Ratt release and later became best known as the frontman of BulletBoys.

Joey Cristofanilli

Joey Cristofanilli briefly played bass and provided backing vocals for Ratt in 1983 during a period when Juan Croucier was temporarily unavailable. His tenure was short before Croucier returned to the band.

Michael Schenker

Michael Schenker served as a substitute guitarist for Ratt during the 1991–1992 period after Robbin Crosby left the touring lineup. Schenker is best known for his work with UFO, Scorpions, and the Michael Schenker Group.

Robbie Crane

Robbie Crane played bass for Ratt from 1996 to 2012, contributing to Collage (1997), Ratt (1999), and Infestation (2010). Crane also played with Vince Neil and Lynch Mob. In 2016, he briefly returned to the Ratt orbit as bassist in Bobby Blotzer’s touring version of the band.

Keri Kelli

Keri Kelli, also known as Kenneth Fear Jr., served as rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist for Ratt from 1999 to 2000. He did not appear on an official Ratt studio release and later worked with Alice Cooper, Slash’s Snakepit, and other rock acts.

John Corabi

John Corabi joined Ratt around 2000 as rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist and remained through 2008. He performed with the band during the period when Jizzy Pearl handled lead vocals and remained after Stephen Pearcy returned. Corabi had previously fronted Mötley Crüe.

Jizzy Pearl

Jizzy Pearl, also known as James Wilkinson, served as Ratt’s lead vocalist from 2000 to 2006 while Stephen Pearcy was away from the band. Pearl was previously the frontman of Love/Hate.

Carlos Cavazo

Carlos Cavazo joined Ratt in 2008, playing lead and rhythm guitar and backing vocals through 2014, then returning from 2016 to 2018. He contributed to Infestation in 2010. Cavazo was previously a longtime member of Quiet Riot and later joined Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini for their 2025 and 2026 performances of Ratt material.

Jimmy DeGrasso

Jimmy DeGrasso served as a substitute drummer for Ratt in 2014 and became a full-time member from 2016 to 2018. He has also played with Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Suicidal Tendencies, and other major rock and metal acts.

Chris Sanders

Chris Sanders joined Ratt in 2018 as rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. He remained until 2020, when he left the band and announced his retirement from the music business. He did not contribute to an official Ratt studio release.

Joshua Alan

Joshua Alan served as lead vocalist for Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience and later Blotzer’s touring version of Ratt from 2015 until early 2017. His tenure belonged to Blotzer’s separate lineup during the legal dispute over the Ratt name rather than to the classic-band partnership.

Michael “Doc” Ellis

Michael “Doc” Ellis played rhythm guitar and backing vocals in Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience and subsequent touring version of Ratt from 2015 to 2016.

Nicholas “Blaze” Baum

Nicholas “Blaze” Baum played lead guitar and backing vocals in Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience and Blotzer’s touring Ratt lineup during 2015 and 2016.

Scotty Griffin

Scotty Griffin played bass and provided backing vocals in Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience beginning in 2015. He remained with Blotzer’s touring version until early 2016, when Robbie Crane replaced him.

Stacey Blades

Stacey Blades, also known as Bryan MaClachlan, played rhythm guitar in Bobby Blotzer’s touring version of Ratt from 2016 into 2017. He had previously played with L.A. Guns.

Todd Kerns

Todd Kerns served briefly as a substitute bassist in Bobby Blotzer’s touring version of Ratt in 2016. Kerns is also known for his work with Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

Mitch Perry

Mitch Perry joined Bobby Blotzer’s touring version of Ratt on lead guitar in 2016 and remained into 2017. His career has also included work with Talas, the Michael Schenker Group, Lita Ford, and other rock acts.

Brad Lang

Brad Lang played bass and provided backing vocals in Bobby Blotzer’s touring version of Ratt from 2016 into 2017. Lang is also known for his work with Y&T.
