Ratt is a prominent American glam metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1977. Known for their contributions to the 1980s rock and heavy metal scene, Ratt released several successful albums including Out of the Cellar (1984), which achieved multi-platinum status. The band experienced multiple lineup changes and breakups over the years but left a significant impact on the rock genre with chart-topping singles and albums. They have released a total of seven studio albums, with numerous compilations and live albums. Despite several periods of hiatus and reunions, Ratt remains an influential name in rock history.
Stephen Pearcy
Stephen Pearcy is the founding member of Ratt, having initially formed the band in 1977. He served as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist from 1977 to 1992, returning during various periods from 1996 to 2000, 2007 to 2014, and again from 2016 to 2022. Pearcy contributed to all of Ratt’s releases, bringing his signature vocal style to albums like Out of the Cellar, Invasion of Your Privacy, and Dancing Undercover. Pearcy’s energetic stage presence and distinctive voice helped establish Ratt’s iconic sound. Outside of Ratt, Pearcy pursued a solo career and formed several side projects, including the bands Arcade and Vicious Delite.
Juan Croucier
Juan Croucier joined Ratt in 1982 and played bass and provided backing vocals until 1992. He rejoined the band from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2022. Croucier contributed significantly to the band’s sound, particularly with his work on albums like Ratt (1983), Out of the Cellar, and Collage (1997). His solid bass lines and vocal harmonies were integral to Ratt’s success. Before joining Ratt, Croucier was a member of Dokken, and after his time with Ratt, he focused on his band, Liquid Sunday.
Pete Holmes
Pete Holmes joined Ratt as the drummer in 2018 and remained with the band until 2022. However, he did not contribute to any official Ratt album releases. Holmes was previously known for his work with Black ‘n Blue and other rock acts.
Jordan Ziff
Jordan Ziff joined Ratt as the lead guitarist, contributing backing vocals as well. Ziff brought a new energy to the band during his time, although he did not appear on any of Ratt’s official studio recordings.
Frankie Lindia
Frankie Lindia joined Ratt in 2021 as the rhythm guitarist, providing backing vocals. He played with the band until 2022 but did not contribute to any recorded releases.
Chris Hager
Chris Hager was part of Ratt from 1977 to 1981 as the lead guitarist. He played on the track “Drivin’ on E” (1980). After leaving Ratt, Hager went on to join the band Rough Cutt.
Tim Garcia
Tim Garcia played bass and provided backing vocals for Ratt from 1977 to 1980. He passed away in 2011. Garcia was part of the early formation of the band, helping to establish its foundation.
Bob Eisenberg
Bob Eisenberg briefly played drums for Ratt in 1977 but did not appear on any recorded releases.
John Turner
John Turner was with Ratt from 1977 to 1981, contributing to the track “Drivin’ on E” (1980).
Dave Jellison
Dave Jellison played bass and provided backing vocals for Ratt from 1980 to 1981 but did not contribute to any recorded releases.
Paul DeNisco
Paul DeNisco was the rhythm guitarist for Ratt in 1980, but he did not participate in any official recordings.
Matt Thorr
Matt Thorr joined Ratt as the bassist from 1981 to 1982, contributing to the track “Tell the World” (1982).
Jake E. Lee
Jake E. Lee, also known as Jakey Lou Williams, was the lead guitarist for Ratt in 1981. He did not appear on any Ratt recordings but later gained fame as the guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and later formed the band Badlands.
Bob DeLellis
Bob DeLellis played rhythm guitar for Ratt, though his tenure was brief, and he did not participate in any recordings.
Dave Alford
Dave Alford served as a drummer for Ratt during their early years. He was also part of the band Rough Cutt after leaving Ratt.
Robbin Crosby
Robbin Crosby was a founding member of Ratt and played rhythm and lead guitar from 1981 until 1991. Crosby contributed to all Ratt releases from “Tell the World” (1982) to Collage (1997). His guitar work and songwriting played a crucial role in defining Ratt’s sound. Crosby passed away in 2002.
Warren DeMartini
Warren DeMartini joined Ratt in 1981 and became one of the band’s most recognizable lead guitarists. He contributed to all of Ratt’s major releases, from “Tell the World” (1982) to Infestation (2010). DeMartini’s technical skills and melodic solos were instrumental in Ratt’s success. He left the band in 2018.
Khurt Maier
Khurt Maier played drums for Ratt from 1981 to 1982 but did not contribute to any of their recorded works.
Gene Hunter
Gene Hunter briefly played bass for Ratt in 1982 but did not appear on any official releases.
Bobby Blotzer
Bobby Blotzer joined Ratt in 1982 and played drums until 1992, returning from 1996 to 2014. He played on all Ratt releases from “Tell the World” (1982) to Infestation (2010). Blotzer was known for his powerful drumming style and was a consistent member during the band’s peak years.
Marq Torien
Marq Torien, also known as Mark Maytorena, briefly played lead guitar and provided backing vocals for Ratt in 1982. He did not appear on any recorded releases. Torien later gained fame as the frontman for the BulletBoys.
Joey Cristofanilli
Joey Cristofanilli played bass and provided backing vocals for Ratt in 1983.
Michael Schenker
Michael Schenker was a substitute guitarist for Ratt from 1991 to 1992. He is best known for his work with UFO and the Scorpions.
Robbie Crane
Robbie Crane played bass for Ratt from 1996 to 2012, contributing to Collage (1997), Ratt (1999), and Infestation (2010). Crane also played with Vince Neil and Lynch Mob during his career.
Keri Kelli
Keri Kelli, also known as Kenneth Fear Jr., was the rhythm guitarist for Ratt from 1999 to 2000. He did not contribute to any official releases. Kelli later played with bands like Alice Cooper and Slash’s Snakepit.
John Corabi
John Corabi joined Ratt in 2000 and remained until 2008. He was also the former lead vocalist for Mötley Crüe.
Jizzy Pearl
Jizzy Pearl, also known as James Wilkinson, served as the lead vocalist for Ratt from 2000 to 2006. He was previously the frontman for Love/Hate.
Carlos Cavazo
Carlos Cavazo joined Ratt in 2008, playing lead and rhythm guitar until 2014, and again from 2016 to 2018. He contributed to the album Infestation (2010). Cavazo was formerly a member of Quiet Riot.
Jimmy DeGrasso
Jimmy DeGrasso served as a substitute drummer for Ratt in 2014 and became a full-time member from 2016 to 2018. He has also played with Megadeth and Alice Cooper.
Chris Sanders
Chris Sanders played rhythm guitar for Ratt from 2018 to 2020 but did not contribute to any official releases.
Joshua Alan
Joshua Alan was a lead vocalist for Bobby Blotzer’s version of Ratt from 2015 to 2017.
Michael “Doc” Ellis
