Original Alice Cooper Band Reunites Onstage as “The Revenge of Alice Cooper” Drops

London’s O2 Arena exploded with electricity and nostalgia on July 25, 2025, as surviving members of the original Alice Cooper Group reunited onstage for a performance that became a memorable moment in rock history. Before twelve thousand devoted fans, Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith, and Michael Bruce performed their anthemic classic “School’s Out.” The reunion came the same day the group released The Revenge of Alice Cooper, their first full studio album together since 1973.

The night had already reached an emotional peak when Johnny Depp joined Alice and his touring band for a high-voltage tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, covering Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid.” The crowd erupted again when Dunaway, Smith, and Bruce appeared for “School’s Out.” Supported by Depp and Alice’s touring lineup, the surviving original members helped close Alice Cooper’s set in pure rock-and-roll fashion.

The previous evening, July 24, the original band members and producer Bob Ezrin, often called the “sixth member” of the group, gathered at London’s Union Chapel for a sold-out Q&A and album-listening event hosted by Sir Tim Rice. Fans also had the opportunity to follow the event through a livestream. The musicians and Ezrin reminisced about their early days and shared the stories behind the new songs.

The Revenge of Alice Cooper, released July 25, 2025, via earMUSIC, was more than just a new album. It revived the sound and spirit that made the group icons. Recorded in old-school fashion at a Connecticut studio with Ezrin producing, the album featured the riffs, macabre storytelling, and swaggering attitude that defined Alice Cooper’s heyday.

Remarkably, Glen Buxton, the band’s late original guitarist, appeared posthumously on “What Happened to You,” thanks to previously unreleased recordings. His appearance kept part of the original quintet’s musical spirit alive within the reunion project.

The record delivered vintage Cooper ferocity from start to finish. “Black Mamba,” the lead single featuring Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, announced the group’s return with a snarl. Tracks like “Wild Ones,” “Up All Night,” and the haunting “See You on the Other Side” captured the creative fire that had long defined the band.

The album also included a long-lost alternate take of “Return of the Spiders,” unearthed decades later and enhanced by Ezrin for a special edition.

The Revenge of Alice Cooper brought together Alice Cooper on vocals and harmonica, Michael Bruce on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Dennis Dunaway on bass and backing vocals, and Neal Smith on drums and backing vocals. Buxton’s archival guitar recording supplied a posthumous contribution, while Gyasi Heus and Rick Tedesco contributed lead guitar. Krieger’s appearance on “Black Mamba” added another connection to rock history.

The original Alice Cooper Band, Alice, Michael, Dennis, Neal, and Glen, first broke boundaries in the early 1970s. They fused hard rock, glam, and theatrical shock on albums including Love It to Death, Killer, School’s Out, and Billion Dollar Babies. Their songs “I’m Eighteen,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Elected,” and “School’s Out” turned them into superstars.

Their over-the-top stage shows and rebellious, horror-infused vision changed the face of rock. The original group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2011, cementing its place in rock history.
