Reneé Rapp first drew national attention through musical theater, winning the 2018 Jimmy Award before taking over the role of Regina George in the Broadway production of Mean Girls. Her stage work revealed the force of her voice, but her recording career soon established a separate identity built around emotionally direct pop songwriting, sharp humor, and arrangements that leave room for both restraint and vocal power.

Rapp released her debut EP, Everything To Everyone, in 2022. Songs including “In The Kitchen,” “Too Well,” “Colorado,” and “Don’t Tell My Mom” introduced a songwriter willing to turn private anxieties, damaged relationships, and uncomfortable self-awareness into concise pop songs. The expanded edition followed in 2023 with “Bruises” and a full-length version of the EP’s title track.

Her first studio album, Snow Angel, arrived in 2023. The record moved between the conversational energy of “Talk Too Much,” the anger of “Poison Poison,” the longing of “I Hate Boston,” and the dramatic title track. A deluxe edition added “Messy,” “I Do,” “Swim,” and a remix of “Tummy Hurts” featuring Coco Jones, while separate acoustic sessions offered new interpretations of “I Wish” and “Pretty Girls.”

Rapp returned to Regina George for the 2024 film adaptation of Mean Girls. Her soundtrack performances included “Meet the Plastics,” “Someone Gets Hurt,” and “World Burn.” She also recorded “Not My Fault” with Megan Thee Stallion, a standalone pop collaboration that appeared over the film’s closing credits.

BITE ME, released in 2025, pushed Rapp’s music toward louder guitars, biting humor, and a more confrontational tone without abandoning the ballads that showcase her vocal control. “Leave Me Alone,” “Mad,” “Why Is She Still Here?,” “Kiss It Kiss It,” “Shy,” and “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone” became central songs from the album.

The album later received a digital live edition containing five concert performances. Rapp also released “Lucky” for the film Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and closed 2025 with live Apple Music Radio performances of “Shy” and “Kiss It Kiss It.” Her BITE ME touring schedule continued into 2026.

Across her theater, film, and recording work, Rapp has developed a style that depends on contrast.
