Ella Langley grew up in Hope Hull, Alabama, in a musical family, developing a love for singing and songwriting at an early age. She sang in church, learned guitar from family members, and began writing her own songs as a teenager. By the late 2010s, she was performing in bars and at local festivals across Alabama, building the stage experience that would help shape her professional career.

Langley’s career accelerated after she moved to Nashville in 2019 to pursue country music full-time. Before signing a major-label deal, she released music independently and developed an audience through live performances and social media. She signed with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records in 2023 and released her debut EP, Excuse the Mess, that May.

Her debut studio album, hungover, was released on August 2, 2024. Langley co-wrote all 14 tracks, and Will Bundy produced the record. A deluxe edition titled still hungover followed on November 1, 2024. The album included her breakthrough duet with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me,” as well as “Weren’t for the Wind,” which extended her success at country radio.

Langley became one of country music’s biggest award winners in 2025. She earned five Academy of Country Music Awards, including New Female Artist of the Year and multiple honors connected to “You Look Like You Love Me.” Her momentum continued in 2026, when she led the ACM Awards with seven victories and set a new record for the most ACM wins by a single artist in one year.

Her second studio album, Dandelion, was released on April 10, 2026. The 18-song record includes “Choosin’ Texas,” “Be Her,” “Loving Life Again,” “Butterfly Season” with Miranda Lambert, and a new version of Kitty Wells’ “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.” The album reached number 1 on the Billboard 200, while “Choosin’ Texas” became a major crossover hit.

Langley also expanded her collaborative catalog with “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” a 2026 duet with Morgan Wallen, and a newly recorded version of “Here for the Party” with Gretchen Wilson. These releases added another chapter to a catalog that now stretches from independent singles and acoustic performances to chart-topping albums and high-profile collaborations.
