Motionless In White built a catalog where crushing breakdowns, horror-film atmosphere, industrial electronics, arena-sized choruses, and intensely personal lyrics all occupy the same dark world. Across early underground EPs, major-label albums, acoustic reinterpretations, remixes, theatrical collaborations, and the anniversary-minded scope of Decades, the band has continued changing its sound without surrendering the identity that first connected it to listeners.

Motionless In White formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania, during the high school years of vocalist Chris Cerulli and his original bandmates. They performed under the names One Way Ticket and When Breathing Stops before settling on Motionless In White on New Year’s Day 2005, taking the name from an Eighteen Visions song. The band’s early local performances and changing lineup eventually led to the EPs The Whorror and When Love Met Destruction, which established its combination of metalcore, gothic imagery, horror themes, and electronic atmosphere.
Fearless Records released the band’s first full-length studio album, Creatures, in 2010. “Abigail,” “Immaculate Misconception,” “Puppets (The First Snow),” “City Lights,” “Undead Ahead,” and the title track helped define the band’s early identity. The album’s dark visual language, aggressive breakdowns, and fan-centered themes became foundations that Motionless In White would continue developing throughout its career.
Infamous followed in 2012 with a broader industrial and electronic approach. “Devil’s Night,” “A-M-E-R-I-C-A,” “Black Damask (The Fog),” “Sinematic,” “Synthetic Love,” and “Burned at Both Ends” pushed the band toward a larger and more theatrical sound. Reincarnate arrived in 2014 with “Death March,” “Contemptress,” “Break the Cycle,” “Dark Passenger,” “Puppets 3 (The Grand Finale),” and the title track.
Graveyard Shift became the band’s first Roadrunner Records album in 2017. “570,” “LOUD (Fuck It),” “Voices,” “Necessary Evil,” “Eternally Yours,” and “Not My Type: Dead as Fuck 2” balanced the group’s metalcore roots with increasingly prominent hooks and electronic production. Bassist Justin Morrow later joined the lineup alongside Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Olson, and drummer Vinny Mauro.
Disguise followed in 2019 with “Another Life,” “Brand New Numb,” “Thoughts & Prayers,” “Catharsis,” “Headache,” “Legacy,” and the title track. The album continued the group’s movement toward larger melodic choruses while preserving the anxiety, isolation, anger, and self-examination that had long shaped Cerulli’s lyrics.
Scoring the End of the World arrived in 2022 with “Cyberhex,” “Masterpiece,” “Werewolf,” “Slaughterhouse,” “Sign of Life,” “Burned at Both Ends II,” and the Mick Gordon collaboration that gave the album its title. The deluxe edition added “Hollow Points,” “Fool’s Gold,” “Timebomb (STEOTW Mix),” and alternate cinematic versions. Additional releases during this period included “Timebomb,” synthwave versions of “Werewolf,” and the WWE entrance theme “Demon in Your Dreams.”
The band revisited Reincarnate in 2024 with a tenth-anniversary EP containing newly recorded versions of “Reincarnate” and “Contemptress,” along with “Unstoppable (NXT Version).” That project connected the band’s earlier theatrical metal sound with the heavier production and vocal approach of its later years.
Motionless In White released its seventh studio album, Decades, in 2026. The fourteen-song record included “Afraid Of The Dark,” “R.I.P.,” “Playing God,” “Fight Like Hell,” “All That I’ve Ever Known,” “Blood Rave,” “Love At First Bite,” “Count Back From Zero,” “Blood Pact,” and a cover of “Sunglasses At Night.” Guests included Skylar Grey, Corey Taylor, Anthony Martinez of Dark Divine, and Outlier.
Across more than two decades, Motionless In White has remained closely connected to listeners through songs about isolation, depression, identity, anxiety, rejection, and survival. The band’s visual presentation and theatrical production attract immediate attention, but the catalog has endured because its emotional concerns remain direct and recognizable beneath the costumes, electronics, and heavy arrangements.
