Usher Raymond IV, a multifaceted performer born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, transformed the landscape of contemporary R&B with his soulful voice, electrifying stage presence, and groundbreaking hits. Born on October 14, 1978, Usher’s musical journey accelerated after his family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where his mother, Jonetta Patton, nurtured his burgeoning talent. Recognizing his potential, Usher joined the local singing group NuBeginnings before embarking on a solo career that would establish him as one of the most successful artists in modern music history.

Usher’s career took off in 1993 when he signed with LaFace Records after impressing L.A. Reid during an audition. At fifteen years old, he released his self-titled debut album in 1994, produced in part by Sean “Puffy” Combs.
