Fernando Varela: The ClassicRockHistory.com Interview

Fernando Varela Interview

The first time I ever heard Fernando Varela sing, I was brought to tears within just the first few notes. It’s safe to say that I am not alone in that experience. There are not many singers that have the ability to touch the listener in such an emotional sense that quickly. Fernando Varela is certainly one that can. While interviewing Fernando it became apparent rather quickly that this was a man filled with heart, soul, and a tremendous respect for the human experience. Perhaps it was the tough road the man faced in making it in the music business that fueled his sense of modesty and kindness. Of course, there is good reason to think that it’s just in his nature. It’s probably a combination of both.

While most introductions to an interview start out with a synopsis of the artist’s career and talents, this one is defined by the spirit of a man that should serve as an inspiration to young people learning how to make their way through life and at the same time how to treat others. Respect and kindness became key factors in our interview. Many artists just want to talk about their accomplishments. While we covered his history and musical achievements which are extraordinary, his message seemed to focus on just being a good person.

American audiences were first introduced to the talents of Fernando Varela when he appeared as part of a trio called Forte on America’s Got Talent in 2013. The original trio of the group was formed to compete in the eighth season of the show. The group made it to the final round despite having to replace one of the members during the show. After the group was eliminated they were instantly signed to Columbia Records. Their debut album broke into the Billboard Top 200 albums charts while also reaching the top 10 on the classic charts and becoming Barnes And Noble’s number one selling album. Who says you have to win a talent contest to have a number-one album?

Since Fernando Varela’s success with Forte, the man has toured the world multiple times with hitmaker David Foster. He has performed side by side with some of the most famous artists in the world. He released his solo debut album in 2017 entitled Vivere. As he told me in the interview, his plans are to continue to keep releasing music that will move people. We hope you enjoy our interview with Fernando. It’s an in-depth look into the spirit of a man who has moved so many people with a voice from the heavens.
