The legendary band The Cure have just announced a European Tour set for the upcoming year in 2022. Sadly for Cure fans, it’s almost a year away as the tour is planned for the end of 2002 starting in the Fall in the month of October. Tickets for the shows will be going on sale within this week. Since the tour will not begin in Europe for another year, we are curious as to if they are planning US tour dates for the Summer of 2022 or sooner. No announcement have been made yet but we should keep watch on what’s going on with The Cure.
The last show The Cure performed at was in the United States in Austin Texas on October 12, 2019. It was a massive worldwide tour the band was on in 2019 when they played cities around the world such as Moscow, Paris, Oslo, Helsinki and many other huge cities around the world. The last scheduled concert the band was set to appear in was for the Open’er Festival in Gdynia, Poland on July 4th 2020. Unfortunately, like many other music festivals and concerts in the Covid era, that festival was cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The Cure’s big touring plans for Europe may be due to the possibility of a new album release. The group has not released a new album since the release of their 4:13 Dream album which was released in October of 2008. The band had announced on their website that they had gone into the studio in 2019 to record thirteen new songs. No new album has been released by the band.
Two years ago in 2019, The Cure were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. The group released their first album entitled Three Imaginary Boys in 1979. Since the release of their debut record, The Cure have released thirteen studio albums. They are one of the most unique and original rock bands in classic rock history. The group has been very active in releasing many remix albums and live shows over the past decade. However it would be wonderful to hear an entire album of new material. Let’s hope that the reasoning behind the 2022 tour is to promote a new record.
Below are the dates that have been announced along with the locations of the Cure 2022 tour. Tickets will be available to purchase on link below. Most of them will go on sale on December 9th 2021.
