Our top 10 Foals songs ranked list takes a look at a great modern sounding New Wave sort of retro rock and roll band formed in Oxford, England in the mid-2000s. The band Foals are not really well known in the United States, but they are a popular group in the United Kingdom. It’s a shame that they’re not more well-known in the States because this is such a great rock band that is really original sounding crossing the genres of so many different styles of rock music in creating a very unique and original sound. The band has released six studio albums so far since their debut entitled Antidotes was released in 2008. Their most recent album was released in 2019 entitled Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost -Part 2. Its very 80s sounding.
# 6 – Cassius
It’s amazing how different this band sounds on so many of their tunes. The song “Cassius,” was released on the album Antidote. It was the second single released from the album. It was also the album’s most successful single and their highest charting single at that time. The song hit number 26 on the United Kingdom pop charts. They are so tasty and also a little mysterious at the same time. And those horns are amazing.
# 5 – Exits
Listen to how this song starts out so slow and then bam! the drums, the bass guitar, and keyboards just hit you in the face, knock you down, lay you out and pick you up again while saying “listen to me man, this is rock and roll, Foals style!” The song “Exits,” was released on the album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part One. This band is definitely unrecognized and deserves to be heard by everyone. All you need to do is listen to this song and your going to agree with us. “Mountains At My Gate,” was released in 2015 on the album entitled What Went Down. The guitar work is just so phenomenal and at time sounds like the Edge from U2.
