When I started composing this list, I said to myself, ” No, I’m not going to do it. I am not going to put the song on this list that everybody probably thinks of as soon as they hear the word seasons in a song title. It’s just too obvious, so nope, you’re not going to find Terry Jacks “Seasons In The Sun” on this list. And I know that I will undoubtedly get comments, “how could you not put “Seasons in the Sun” on this list,” because most people won’t even read this first paragraph. But I don’t care, I’m not going to do it. Instead, I put some pretty deep tracks on this list to make it a little more interesting. They’re actually my favorites, and that’s why I write these articles: I enjoy doing it. Nobody really searches for anything anymore because AI answers everything, and people just listen to those answers, no matter how wrong they are most of the time. So I just feel like I’m writing for myself now. But I don’t care. If you actually did read this, I really thank you tremendously, and I hope I brought you some joy for at least a minute or two.

# 10 – Season Of The Fair – Maria McKee
We open up our list of songs with the word season in the title with a track from one of our favorite artists of all time. Whenever we do articles like this, if we ever get a chance to add a Maria McKee song, we’re going to do it. This one is from her Peddlin’ Dreams album. The tenderness in her voice on this track is just striking.
# 9 – The Seasons – Lynyrd Skynyrd
This beautiful song by the original Lynyrd Skynyrd band was finally released on the band’s post-plane crash album, Skynyrd’s First and… Last in 1978. This was an early track the band recorded before their debut album. It was written by Rickey Medlocke, who also sings the lead vocal on the track. This is really early stuff, before the band became well-known.
# 8 – Seasons – Jeff Beck
We celebrate the late Jeff Beck on this list with a funky track from his album, Jeff. It was released in 2003. That’s Ronni Ancona on vocals.
# 7 – Seasons – Elton John
We are keeping the titles simple here for a while as we turn to another one of our favorite artists, Elton John. This was from his soundtrack album Friends. This was such a beautiful record, although I’ve never actually seen the film.
# 6 – All Four Seasons – Sting
Mercury Rising is Sting’s most underrated work. It is also my favorite Sting album. Sting never sounded more soulful than he did on this record.
# 5 – Fairest Of The Seasons – Nico
The song “The Fairest of the Seasons” was actually written by Jackson Browne. It was also featured in the Gene Hackman film The Royal Tenenbaums, which was directed by the very talented Wes Anderson.
# 4 – 72 Seasons – Metallica
If you have never heard this sensational track from Metallica, make sure to give this one a listen. I mean Wow! This is the title track from their 72 Seasons album, which was released in 2023.
# 3 – Time Of The Season – The Zombies
No matter how deep we wanted to go on this list, we couldn’t leave this one off. The song was originally released on their album Odessey and Oracle in 1968. The song went all the way to number three on the Billboard Hot 100, but did hit number one on the Cash Box list. Remember Cash Box?
# 2 – Season Of The Witch – Bloomfield, Kooper, Stills
There are many versions of this song, but to me, this will always be the one that stands as the classic. What an album this was. Super Sessions was released in 1968.
# 1 – Seasons of Wither – Aerosmith
Oh yeah, now this is the way to close out this list. Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands of all time and probably the greatest American rock band ever. This killer rock ballad is from their album Get Your Wings. The album was released in 1974.
