While researching an article we were writing based on the legendary Italian Progressive Rock Band Area, we stumbled across a video by the band Fleshgod Apocalypse entitled “The Forsaken.” We were completely blown away by the video. This was in the most simplest defining term “A Work of Art.” In the early 1980’s so many bands were discovered by the launch of MTV. For many rock fans, the first time they discovered bands were from first seeing them perform in a video on MTV. Band’s like Asia, and so many more owe the start of their careers to the exposure they received for their debut albums on MTV. The same exact concept continues to thrive in the present day with the utilization of YouTube. So many bands are now discovered on YouTube both classic and modern.
The song “The Forsaken,” was released on the album Agony in 2011.The musicians featured on the album include, Tommaso Riccardi on Lead Vocals, and Guitars, Paolo Rossi on Vocals and Bass, Cristiano Trionfera on Vocals and Guitars and Francesco Paoli on Drums, Guitars and Vocals and Francesco Ferrini on Piano.
The band Fleshgod Apocalypse seems to be one of the most exciting and interesting bands to come out of the Italian Peninsular in the past twenty years. If Death Metal is not your thing, that’s okay, you can still enjoy the art presented in this unique and most original video. We though it was so good, we could not help but writing instantly about it.
