Because she died so young, Aaliyah did not release a large body of work. She was off to an amazing start having released three albums by the time she was twenty two years old. It was just about a month after the release of her third album entitled Aaliyah in 2001 when Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash. At the time Aaliyah was becoming one of the biggest pop music stars in the world. Aaliyah had released her first album entitled Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number when she was only sixteen years old. It was a huge selling album selling over three million copies.
Aaliyah’s second album release entitled One in a Million, once again sold over three million copies. Aaliyah’s third album simply tited Aaliyah would come close to selling three million copies in the United States. However, the album was also an international success having sold thirteen million copies worldwide. Her final albums would also be her first album to hit number one on the US Billboard Top 200 album charts.
Recently, it was announced that a fourth Aaliyah album of unreleased material will be released in 2022 entitled Unstoppable. A lead single called “Poison,” has already been relesed from the album.
