Sevendust is an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1994. Known for their heavy metal and hard rock style, the band has released fifteen studio albums, achieving significant commercial success and a loyal fan base. Notable albums include their self-titled debut in 1997, which set the foundation for their aggressive musical style, and Home, which further established their presence in the metal scene. Their fourteenth studio album, Truth Killer, was released in 2023, followed by their fifteenth studio album, ONE, in 2026. The band has been recognized with several award nominations, including a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for “Thank You.”

Lajon Witherspoon

Lajon Witherspoon has been the lead vocalist of Sevendust since 1994. Known for his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence, Witherspoon has contributed to all of the band’s albums. His vocal style has become a defining characteristic of Sevendust’s sound. Outside of Sevendust, Witherspoon has collaborated with other artists and bands, contributing to various projects that showcase his versatility as a vocalist.

Clint Lowery

Clint Lowery joined the group as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist in 1995, shortly after the band’s formation. He has been a primary songwriter for the band and has played a pivotal role in crafting their heavy, melodic sound. Lowery left Sevendust in late 2004 and was replaced by Sonny Mayo before returning to the band in 2008. He has also released solo material and has been involved with other musical projects, including Dark New Day and Call Me No One, showcasing his broad musical talents beyond Sevendust.

John Connolly

John Connolly, another founding member, plays guitar and provides backing vocals. He has been with Sevendust since the beginning and has played on all their albums. Vinnie Hornsby

Lee Banks

Lee Banks was a founding-era guitarist in the group that eventually became Sevendust. He joined bassist Vinnie Hornsby, drummer Morgan Rose, guitarist John Connolly, and vocalist Lajon Witherspoon during the band’s early Rumblefish and Crawlspace period. Banks left the group in 1995 as its touring schedule intensified and was replaced by Clint Lowery.

Sonny Mayo

Sonny Mayo joined Sevendust in 2005, replacing Clint Lowery during Lowery’s departure from the band. Mayo contributed to the studio albums Next, Alpha, and Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow, helping the band maintain their signature sound during this period. Lowery returned to Sevendust in 2008, bringing the band’s classic lineup back together. After his tenure with Sevendust, Mayo continued to work with other bands and remained active in the music industry, focusing on both performance and music education.
