Simple Plan originated out of Montreal, Quebec. The band was officially formed in 1999 by a group of friends who had been playing together for some time. They quickly made a name for themselves in the pop punk scene with their catchy hooks and relatable lyrics, addressing themes of teenage angst and coming-of-age struggles. Simple Plan’s debut album, No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls, released in 2002, was a commercial success, featuring hits like “I’m Just a Kid” and “Perfect.” The band’s ability to connect with a wide audience led to several successful follow-up albums, including Still Not Getting Any… and Simple Plan. Over the years, Simple Plan has been known for their energetic live performances and charitable efforts, particularly through the Simple Plan Foundation which aims to help young people in need.
Pierre Bouvier
Pierre Bouvier has been the lead vocalist of Simple Plan since its formation in 1999. Initially, he also played bass before switching to lead vocals when David Desrosiers joined the band. Bouvier’s energetic stage presence and distinctive voice have played a pivotal role in defining the band’s sound. He has been involved in writing much of the band’s material, contributing significantly to all of their albums. His ability to craft lyrics that resonate with fans has been a key factor in the band’s enduring popularity. Outside of Simple Plan, Bouvier has participated in television projects and hosted music-related shows, further showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry.
Chuck Comeau
Chuck Comeau is the drummer and one of the founding members of Simple Plan. His dynamic drumming style provides the backbone for the band’s upbeat and high-energy performances. Comeau has been instrumental in songwriting and managing many of the band’s projects. Prior to Simple Plan, he played in the band Reset with Pierre Bouvier. Comeau’s involvement in the music industry extends beyond performing, as he has also taken part in music production and contributed to other artists’ works.
Jeff Stinco
Jeff Stinco is the lead guitarist for Simple Plan and has been with the band since its inception. His guitar work is characterized by its melodic yet powerful style, contributing to the band’s signature pop punk sound. Stinco has also provided backing vocals in the band’s early years. Outside of Simple Plan, he has engaged in various business ventures, including opening a music school, which demonstrates his commitment to the music community and education.
Sébastien Lefebvre
Sébastien Lefebvre plays rhythm guitar and provides backing vocals for Simple Plan, roles he has held since the band’s formation. Lefebvre’s contributions help round out the harmonic structure of the band’s music, and he has occasionally stepped in as a bassist during tours. In addition to his work with Simple Plan, Lefebvre has pursued solo projects, releasing his own music which explores a softer, more acoustic-driven sound compared to the band’s pop punk style.
David Desrosiers
David Desrosiers joined Simple Plan in 2000 as the bassist and provided backing and occasional lead vocals until his departure in 2020. Desrosiers was known for his lively performance style and vocal contributions, which were crucial during live shows. His backing vocals and harmonic interplay with Bouvier added depth to the band’s sound. Desrosiers took several breaks from the band for personal health reasons before officially leaving.

Chady Awad
Chady Awad has served as a touring bassist for Simple Plan during various periods when David Desrosiers was on hiatus. His role was to maintain the band’s performance quality and consistency during live shows.

Nicholas Kennedy
Nicholas Kennedy began touring with Simple Plan in 2021 as the bassist. His addition to the touring lineup has helped the band continue their live performances and musical engagements worldwide following the departure of David Desrosiers.
