The debut album of the Brian Setzer Orchestra took many fans by surprise. It’s not often that big bands were formed in popular music in the 20th century, outside of the jazz world. Brian Setzer was the perfect man to do it. Setzer took the retro sound that he had great success with the Stray Cats to an entirely new level with a big band of musicians that could swing and rock hard at the same time. The album was filled with a mix of original songs by Bruan Setzer as well as traditional rocking classics.

Boogie Woogie Christmas

While the first four Brian Setzer Orchestra albums focused on swing and rock classics, the group’s fifth album would give the band a new identity that proved to become their biggest selling point. With the jump into big band Christmas music, Brian Setzer found an aven bigger audience for his band, especially during the holidays. The band’s Christmas album would become a huge success as well as the yearly sold out holiday shows the band would perform.
