This December, Sir Paul McCartney is set to electrify audiences in the UK with his ‘Got Back Tour.’ Having ignited Glastonbury in 2022 with a promise to return, the Beatles icon is now poised to deliver unforgettable evenings in London and Manchester as part of his tour that kicked off in 2022. Paul McCartney, at 81, still a powerhouse of musical history, will celebrate over six decades of his timeless tracks from his solo work, Wings, and the Beatles, promising a vibrant celebration woven from the soundtracks of our lives.
“I’m thrilled to wrap up my year and the 2024 tour dates with shows in the UK,” McCartney expressed. “There’s a unique thrill to playing at home – it’s going to be a sensational finale to the year. Get ready to party – I’m excited to see everyone.”
I took my son to see Paul McCartney at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey about five years ago. It was his first rock concert. Imagine seeing one of the legendary Beatles at your first rock concert. The two of us, as well as the other 80 thousand people in the stadium, were blown away at the energy that McCartney displayed on stage. The band sounded so good.
Marking his first London performance since his 2018 show at The O2 and his return to Manchester since 2011, McCartney’s tour will conclude its 2024 run with grandeur. After lighting up Manchester’s Co-op Live arena on December 14 and 15, he will grace the stage at The O2 on December 18 and 19. Tickets will be available starting this Friday at 10 a.m.
Additionally, McCartney’s global reach continues as he recently announced five dates in South America this October, visiting Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. His return to these countries is set to begin on October 1 in Montevideo, fulfilling his promise to reconnect with fans across continents.
In other exciting news, McCartney has ascended to new heights as the UK’s first billionaire musician, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List. His wealth has surged thanks to the colossal success of his 2023 ‘Got Back’ tour, appreciating asset values, including his musical back catalog, reissues of Beatles compilations, and a notable cover by Beyonce. Having previously topped the rich list in 2022 and 2023, McCartney continues to redefine what’s possible in the music industry.
