Our Top 10 Honeymoon Suite songs looks at a band with its origins in the 1980s that has continued to release music for over thirty years. There’s nothing like winning a song contest that eventually ends up helping a band sign a record deal. That’s the way it happened for the band Honeymoon Suite in the early 1980s. This great group hails from Ontario, Canada just north of Niagara Falls. In fact, it was the point that the band was from Niagara Falls that they named themselves Honeymoon Suite referring to the beautiful area in which they were located. The group released their first album in 1984. The band released four singles from their debut album enjoying success on the charts with many of the LP’s single releases. The original members of the band consisted of Derry Grehan on lead guitar and vocals, Johnnie Dee on lead vocals and guitar, Brian Brackstone on bass, Ray Coburn on keyboards, and Dave Betts on drums.

The band Honeymoon Suite released seven studio albums between the years 1984 and 2008. The group has also released two live albums and three compilation albums. As of 2020, the group was still releasing new music in the single format.

# 10 – Wave Babies

We open up our top 10 Honeymoon Suite songs list with the amazing song entitled “Wave Babies.” The song was released on the album entitled Honeymoon Suite.  It was the third single released from the album. The album was released in 1984. This is a fun mid-tempo rocker. It’s sort of a lighter sounding Duran Duran. The sound is more 1980-81, than 1984, but we will take it. You will love the video as there are some pretty sites to take in all throughout the song.

# 9 – Tell Me What You Want

It’s amazing that in 2019, the group was still able to release new music that sounded very much like the music they released in the 1980s. The band did not seem to age. Johnnie Dee still sounds like he is twenty years old on this glorious song.

# 8 – Say You Don’t Know Me

# 6 – What Does It Take

Landing in the number six spot on our top 10 Honeymoon Suite songs list we present the power ballad entitled “What Does It Take.” You can just feel the song ready to explode in the opening verse. This is 80s power ballad 101. It’s a bit Whitesnake, a bit House Of Lords and many others. Of course, there is the big traditional guitar solo two-thirds of the way through. And you know what? It all works perfectly. Ahh to just go back to 1985 for at least a few hours.

# 5 – Bad Attitude

It’s amazing how different this band sounds on so many of their songs. At times they sounded like Duran Duran while other times they were much heavier like Saraya.
