Our Top 10 Jewel songs article takes a look at 10 of the best and most successful Jewel songs released throughout the artist’s fabulous career. Born in Homer, Alaska in 1974 Jewel found her way to the United States attending a Michigan College studying voice. She would soon begin a career on the West Coast as a nightclub performer where she was eventually signed to Atlantic Records in the early 1990s. Her debut album released in 1995 entitled Pieces of You became a monster hit. Not only was her album a huge success on the music charts and sold very well, Jewel would soon become a performer that would garner a large loyal following of mostly young female teens.
Jewel’s early music was defined by a soft rock sound that was very popular in the early 70s but touched up with a fresh modern 90s sound. In the early 2000s, she dabbled in dance music just like so many other artists did. At the end of the decade she began releasing country records in which she proved to also be successful at. However, Jewel’s legacy will always be defined by her 1990’s records when she became a huge star with an interesting story to tell. # 9 – Stay Here Forever

The song was released on the album entitled Sweet and Wild. The album was released in 2010. It was the first single released from the album. The song was a hit on the US Billboard Country Charts peaking at number 34.
# 8 – Stronger Woman

It charted much higher on the Country Charts reaching all the way up to number thirteen.

This one has always been one of our favorites. How could you not love the soul in this one. In the number seven position on our top 10 Jewel songs list is the song entitled “Down So Long.” The song was released on the album entitled Spirit.The album was released in 1998. It was the second single released from the album. The song was a semi hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number 59.
# 6 – Standing Still
Landing in the number six spot our top 10 Jewel songs list we present the song “Standing Still.” This one was a cross between her folk music as it crossed over into the rock pop adult contemporary sound. The song was released on the album entitled The Way. The album was released in 2001. It was the first of four singles released from the album. The song was a hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number 25.
# 5 – Hands
At the halfway point on our top 10 Jewel songs list is the beautiful song entitled “Hands.” The song was issued on the album entitled Spirit. The album was released in 1998. It was the first single released from the album. “Hands,” would become Jewel’s third top 10 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number six. The song also was major success on the Billboard Hot Airplay Charts reaching all the way up to number two.

The song “Intuition,” was one of the songs that represented Jewel’s foray into dance pop music in the early 2000s. If you have only ever heard one Jewel song which is probably not likely it would probably be this one. Jewel’s great debut single “Who Will Save Your Soul” stands as one of her signature songs. It was the first song most fans ever heard from the great new singer they called Jewel.

# 1 – You Were Meant for Me

It was the fifth and final single released from the album. The song became Jewel’s first number one single on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts. The song also was a hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number two. “You Were Meant For Me.” would also become Jewel’s only platinum selling single.
