Our top 10 Lil Baby songs list looks at the body of work of an American artist famed for influence in the hip-hop and trap music genres. Born in 1994, Lil Baby’s start in the music industry is quite breathtaking, to say the least. He started showing up in Quality Control’s studio in the early 2010s. However, Lil Baby came in not as a singer but a drug dealer. During this time, he interacted with Coach K, who encouraged him to take refuge in music.
Unfortunately, he was arrested in 2012 for possession of marijuana, spending two years in prison. Gladly, he headed to the advice given prior to his arrest and started his music career with the release of the mixtape Perfect Timing in 2017. The mixtape saw him rise to mainstream success upon release. Perfect Timing (2017) featured several reputable artists, including Lil Yatchy and Young Thug.
It only took Lil Baby a few months to release his second mixtape, Harder than Hard (2017). Two more mixtapes followed in the same year, with the last one, Too Hard (2017), bringing more attention to Lil Baby. His single “Freestyle” saw him achieve mainstream success. This prompted Lil Baby to release his debut single the following year. Amazingly, his debut album Harder Than Ever (2018), debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. Several songs on the album charted on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Life Goes On,” “Southside,” and “Yes Indeed.”
In the same year, Lil Baby released a collaborative mixtape with his friend Gunna, under the title Drip Harder. Its lead single “Drip Too Hard” rose to number four on the Billboard Hot 100. It also earned Lil Baby his first nomination for a Grammy Award in the Best Rap/Sung Performance category. Just before 2018 came to an end, Lil Baby released another under the name Street Gossip and did a collaborative song with Yung Gravy.
After teaming up with DaBaby for the release of the hit “Baby” in 2019, Lil Baby started working on his sophomore album My Turn (2020). The album is home to one of his acclaimed hits, “Woah,” which serves as the lead single. My Turn (2020) featured Gunna, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, 42 Dugg, Moneybagg Yo, and Future as guest artists. Amazingly, the album had twelve of its songs rise to the Billboard Hot 100.
His latest album release was his collaborative album with Lil Durk under the title The Voice of the Heroes (2021). Late 2021, Lil Baby was featured on Drake’s hit “Girls Want Girls.” Since 2019, Lil Baby has been nominated for several awards, winning a few accolades in ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, BET Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards. Currently, Lil Baby has his record label, which he has signed several artists, including Rylo Rodriguez and 42 Dugg. Here we present the top 10 Lil Baby songs.
