Our Top 10 Spandau Ballet Songs list presents the songs of a British Band first formed in 1979 that balanced the genres of new wave and pop perfectly. The group would become widely successful on both sides of the Atlantic while also achieving great success in Australia on the music charts. We close out our top 10 Spandau Ballet songs list with the band’s most legendary hit single entuted “True.” This was easily the band’s most successful single. The song was written by Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kempo. That electric piano introduction would soon become one of the great musical memories of the 1980s early music scene. The song hit number one in three countries including The United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland. The song was released on the album entitled True. The album was released in 1983. It was the second single released from the album. The song was also a hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number four. It stands as the band’s only Gold single release.
