Steven Tyler stands as one of the most loved musical artists in classic rock history. Most classic rock fans know him as the lead singer of the legendary band Aerosmith. Of course there are others especially young music fans that recognize him as a former American Idol Judge. However it’s safe to saf that for the most part, he is known as one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time.

1. He has multiple college degrees.

Steven Tyler was granted multiple college degrees in the 21st century. Steven Tyler  received an honorary degree from one of the most famous music colleges in the United States called the Berklee College of Music in 2003. Two years later he also received an honorary doctorate from another college in Boston called the University of Massachusetts.

2. He developed some fashion

Steven Tyler got into the world of fashion development when known for wearing his famous scarfs on stage he  developed his own signature scarf collection  for Andrew Charles that was called the “Rock Scarf Collection”

3. He sang at an NFL Game

While many famous  pop music singers have sang the National Anthem at NFL Games like Whitney Houston and others, Steven Tyler joined that group as a rock and roll singer when he performed the National Anthem at the AFC Championship Game in 2011.

4. Steven Tyler Loves Motorcycles

Steven Tyler  joins a long list of celebrities that loves motorcycles. His love is so strong that he is involved in his own line of Motorcycles called Dirico Motorcycles, which he designed himself along with Mark Dirico. The bikes are built by  AC Custom Motorcycles out of Manchester, New Hampshire.

5. Steven Tyler once ruptured his vocals chords.

Known for his legendary rock and roll screams most people would have thought that Steven Tyler ruptured his vocals chords from singing. However it was from yelling pretty loud in an argument he was having in 2006 that caused Steven Tyler to rupture a blood vessel  in his throat. It caused a tour to be halted in 2006 when he had to have surgery to repair the injury.

6. He appeared in A Super Bowl Commercial

While it used to be a no no for rock stars to appear in commercials, that philosophy has changed dramatically over the years. In 2018 Steven Tyler appeared in a commercial for  Kia Motors. The commercial was filmed for Super Bowl LII.

7. He has a famous actress for a daughter

While most Aerosmith fans are well aware of this fact, there are many casual fans that probably do not release that American actress Liv Tyler is the daughter of Steven Tyler and Bebe Buell. Liv Tyler was born in 1977.

8. His first solo album was a surprise because…

Steven Tyler’s first solo album was a surprise not because of the fact that he released an album of music without his longtime band Aerosmith, but because it wasn’t really a rock and roll albums. Steven Tyler’s first solo album was based on the genre of country music.

9. Did not do well form a commercial standpoint in the early 1980s with Aerosmith

All bands go through many ups and downs in their career. However after having become  one of the most successful rock ‘n’ roll bands in the 1970s, things went South for the band in the beginning of the 1980s as they went from playing huge concert halls and arenas to nightclubs. The group would eventually find their way back after they had a big hit once again when their single Walk this Way was re-recorded by the group and Run DMC.

10. He has made many surprise guest appearances.

Who wouldn’t want to share the stage with Steven Tyler? The man has such a dynamic personality and bigger than life aura he ignites the stage whenever he walks on. He once surprised thousands of happy fans when he appeared with the famous rock and roll progression music Christman band The Trans Siberian Orchestra in 2008 in New York and New Jersey.
