Phantom, Rocker & Slick

Released 1985

Phantom, Rocker & Slick was the debut album by the supergroup formed by drummer Slim Jim Phantom and bassist Lee Rocker from Stray Cats, alongside guitarist Earl Slick. The album blended rockabilly influences with a more hard rock edge, showcasing the trio’s ability to merge their backgrounds into a cohesive sound. The project attracted attention due to the members’ previous successes and featured a mix of energetic tracks and more melodic numbers. Notably, the album included guest appearances by Keith Richards and Nicky Hopkins, adding to its allure.

The album was produced by Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero and recorded at The Power Station in New York City. It featured a mix of original compositions and one cover song, demonstrating the group’s range and musical influences.
