Korn was formed in Bakersfield, California, in 1993.  Korn has released thirteen studio albums, with numerous tracks topping the charts and achieving multi-platinum status. The band has experienced several lineup changes throughout its history but has maintained a consistent presence in the music industry, influencing many bands within the genre. Korn’s distinctive sound, characterized by down-tuned guitars, a heavy rhythm section, and dissonant melodies, has garnered a large fan base and numerous awards.

Jonathan Davis

Jonathan Davis has been the lead vocalist and frontman for Korn since its formation in 1993. He is known for his unique vocal style, which combines aggressive tones and emotional depth. Davis has played on all of Korn’s albums, contributing significantly to their lyrical content, which often explores themes of pain, trauma, and alienation. Outside of Korn, Davis has pursued projects such as his solo album “Black Labyrinth” and has composed scores for films.

James “Munky” Shaffer

James “Munky” Shaffer is one of the founding members and guitarists of Korn. His guitar work, characterized by innovative riffs and the use of seven-string guitars, has been a key component of the band’s sound. Munky has appeared on all Korn albums and is noted for his contributions to the band’s musical direction. He also formed the band Fear and the Nervous System as a side project.

Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu

Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu has served as Korn’s bassist since the band’s inception. Known for his “clicky” bass sound and heavy playing style, Fieldy has been integral to the band’s rhythm section. He has played on all Korn albums and released a solo album, “Rock’n Roll Gangster,” exploring other musical styles. Fieldy published a memoir detailing his experiences in Korn and his personal life.

Brian “Head” Welch

Brian “Head” Welch is a guitarist who was a founding member of Korn. He played with the band from 1993 until 2005 and then rejoined in 2013. During his hiatus from Korn, Head released solo material under the name Love and Death and published several books, including his autobiography which discusses his departure from Korn, conversion to Christianity, and subsequent return. He has been part of every Korn album except for those released during his absence (2005–2013).

David Silveria

David Silveria was the original drummer for Korn from 1993 until his departure in 2006. His drumming style helped define the band’s early sound, contributing to their first seven albums. Silveria’s work is especially noted on albums like “Korn” and “Follow the Leader.” After leaving Korn, he played in several other bands, including INFINIKA and BIAS.

Ray Luzier

Ray Luzier joined Korn as their drummer in 2007, replacing David Silveria. Luzier’s drumming has been featured on all Korn albums since his joining, starting with “Korn III: Remember Who You Are.” His powerful and technical drumming style has added a new dimension to the band’s sound. Luzier was previously part of David Lee Roth’s band and has worked with various other artists.
