There are so many songs placed in movies that we will forever remember defining iconic scenes. In fact, in many cases, it’s the songs that made the scenes most memorable.

We brought up the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High multiple times because it is pretty relevant to this article. One of the 80s greatest teen movies also was fueled by one of the greatest rock and roll soundtracks of all time. Our man Sammy Hagar was part of it. If you grew up in the seventies or eighties and were a  rock and roll fan, the chances are pretty high you loved Sammy Hagar and of course Van Halen. How could you not love Sammy Hagar? The guy has one of the greatest rock and roll voices of all time. He’s one of the most passionate performers in rock and roll. Still, in this very day in 2023, he is rocking hard while he’s in his 70s. The man is almost not human. He is one of the most friendly human beings that has ever performed in rock and roll. He is one of our most written about artists on classicrockhistory.com because we love the guy. He defines what classic rock and roll music is all about. He defines what living hard and living good are all about. This article is a tribute to his soundtrack songs both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of Van Halen.

Serious Juju – Alias

We open up our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list with the cooking song entitled “Serious Juju.” The song made an appearance on the television show Alias. It was placed in the show’s second season, episode eleven. The episode entitled “A Higher Echelon” first aired on January on the ABC Network. The show ran for five seasons from 2011 to 2006.  The show made a star out of a very young Jennifer Garner. It also featured a very young Bradley Cooper. The television show also starred longtime actors Rin Fifkin and Victor Garbor.

Humans Being

Continuing with our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list we take a listen to the great song entitled “Humans Being.”  It’s a great Sammy Hagar Van Halen song that is just so good we had to include it. It’s also the last song released by Van Halen with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals. The song was released on the soundtrack album Twister. The movie was released in 1996. the movie featured an amazing cast that included Helen Hunt, the late Bill Paxton, Jami Gertz, Cary Elwes, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The Winner Takes It All – Over The Top / Eastbound and Down Soundtrack

In the number eight spot on our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list we present the song entitled “The Winner Takes It All.” The song was released on the soundtrack album to the motion picture Over The Top. The movie was released in 1987. The film starred Sylvester Stallone as well as major movie stars Robert Loggia and Susan Blakely. The song also appeared in the HBO series Eastbound and Down which starred Danny McBride.

Dreams

In the number seven position on our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list is the song entitled “Dreams.” This is the second of our two Sammy Hagar Van Halen songs to appear on this list. The classic Van Halen song “Dreams” appeared in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. The song is used in the final scene and the movie’s closing credits.  Now that’s hows you develop a young audience.  The soundtrack album to the movie was released on June 6, 1995. The song “Dreams,” originally appeared on the first Van Halen album to feature Sammy Hagar as the band’s new lead singer entitled 5150. That album was released in 1986.

I Can’t Drive 55 – Back To The Future II

Landing in the number six spot on our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list we present the song “I Can’t Drive 55.” The song appeared in many films and tv shows, but the one we picked to represent the song on this list is the placement of the song in the classic film Back To The Future II. The song was placed in the scene where Marty McFly first lands in the alternate future.

I’ll Fall In Love Again  – Vision Quest

At the halfway point on our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list we present the song entitled “I’ll Fall In Love Again.” The song appeared in the motion picture Vision Quest. The movie was released with a very popular soundtrack that was fueled by Madonna’s hit single “Crazy For You.” It was also Madonna’s first film appearance as she had become a huge star in 1985. The movie Vision Quest was released in 1985. The film starred Mathew Modine and Linda Fiorentino.  The soundtrack album featured classic songs by Foreigner, Journey, Dio Don Henley, and more. Sammy Hagar’s “I’ll Fall In Love Again,” was originally released on his Standing Hampton album.

The Girl Gets Around – Footloose Soundtrack

The Footloose Soundtrack was one of the most successful soundtracks of the 1980s. Kenny Loggins delivered big time on the title track. However, the soundtrack was filled with many great tunes. Our favorite of course was Sammy Hagar’s “The Girl Gets Around.”  The movie was released in 1984.  Sammy Hagar wrote the song for the film. It would also later appear on Sammy Hagar’s 2004 compilation The Essential Red Collection.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Moving along on our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list we present the song entitled “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” The song was the title track to the soundtrack for the motion picture Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The movie and soundtrack were both released in 1981. This classic scene featured Sean Penn as Jeff Spicoli delivering some of the best movie lines of all time.

Heavy Metal – Original Soundtrack

We close out our 10 Best Sammy Hagar Soundtrack Songs list with the song entitled “Heavy Metal.” This is not just the best Sammy Hagar soundtrack song, it’s one of the best songs Sammy Hagar has ever written and recorded. The song fits so perfectly in the film. People went nuts when they first heard this song play in the theaters. It’s probably the most powerful on the soundtrack which includes a lot of great songs. The Heavy Metal Soundtrack album was released in 1981. The movie was produced by Heavy Metal Magazine publisher Leonard Mogel and famed director Ivan Reitman. The animated film was directed by Gerald Potterton who had also worked on the Beatles’ animated film Yellow Submarine.
